Arch has done almost nothing and literally hasn’t done anything special to this point to warrant any ranking but he’s somehow the 2nd best QB in college lol okay Klatt

That’s one thing I like about Arch is in every interview including media days he said it’s ridiculous he’s on preseason lists because he hasn’t done anything. He said he has to prove his worth

Reporters know the Manning name will get them a lot of clicks.

Against UGA:

18/29 for 142 yards 0 TDs and 1 INT

Against South Carolina:

24/36 for 280 yards 0 TDs and 1 INT

Against Texas

26/43 for 336 yards 3 TDs and 1 INT

So against the SEC he threw 3 TDs and 3 INTs. Lost all three games

Nuss against Florida:
27/47 for 260 yards 1 TD and 0 INT

Nuss against Bama:
27/42 for 239 yards 1 TD and 2 INT

Nuss against Texas A&M:
25/50 for 405 yards 2 TD and 3 INT

Nuss against Ole Miss:
22/51 for 337 yards 3 TD and 2 INT

Nuss against SC:
24/40 for 285 yards 2 TD and 1 INT

So in those 5 games Nuss had 9 TD and 8 INT. Lost 3/5. and lead for a total of 90 seconds in the two wins.

I don’t think that I’ve seen John Mateer throw one pass last year, as he played for Washington State. So I’m not in any position to praise or critique him. However, just last night, on WWL, Mike Detillier was raving about how consistently accurate Mateer was at the Manning passing Acadamy. That accuracy came against air, so the question is, can he maintain his accuracy with SEC defensive players in his grill or moving him off his spot.

Although Nuss may not be a great mobile QB who can take off and run, he was really good at stepping up in the pocket, or sliding L or R to avoid the rush. Thats why they have to play the games. August 30th can’t get here soon enough! LFG!

Speaking of Mateer, everyone on TD is putting an automatic W next to the OU game in Norman. It will be at night in front of 90k and could be a playoff elimination game

That won’t be easy

No. I'm not even trying to say that Klubnik is better than Nuss. I think they are both really good college QB's. But you said he is bad and nitpicked games to prove you point, so I nitpicked games to oppose it.

If you want to compare common opponents you can.

Against South Carolina:
66% completion %, 342 total yards, 2 TD 1 INT
60% completion %, 261 total yards, 2 TD 1 INT

I think those who like Klubnik better do so because of his running ability...which Nuss doesn't have. However, IMO, Nuss is a much more gifted passer. The concern with Nuss has ALWAYS been his decision making. He's not afraid to make any throw at any time. That confidence will give you the clutch 4th down throw to tie Ole Miss. It allows you to be 3rd in the nation on 3 down conversion % without a semblance of a running game. It also results in crushing turnovers.

If Nuss can reduce the TOs by even just 30% - 40%, he's going to be the best QB in the nation.

Of course. Statistically they are both really good. Of course you can factor in the schedule, talent surrounding them, etc. I think they will both be really good. I was specifically responding to the guy that said Klubnik is bad, which is just a foolish thing to say.

4,102 total yards, 63% completion, 43 total TD, 6 INT
4,014 total yards, 64% completion, 32 total TD, 12 INT

My post had nothing to do with Nuss. Arch in no universe should be second.

Pate, Doering and Peter Burns were gushing over Mateer yesterday and said he’s their Heisman pick and best QB in the country

Pate will try to act like he was on the LSU bandwagon the whole time if they get rolling this season. He qualifies with if this, and if that’s… but his tone indicates he doesn’t think they will fix the defense enough, or run the ball effectively enough. It’s not an irrational take. He’s obviously not feeling LSU this season. I hope he’s wrong.

In fairness he didn't have SEC talent to throw to either.
