I don't know Dan Borne' personally, but his voice - just like Jim Hawthorne's - was a part of the most exciting LSU sporting events I have been fortunate to be a part of since 1989 - football - and basketball too - during the days of Shaq.
I will forever remember and associate his voice (and Hawthorne's) with my beloved LSU.

How old is Neville High’s PA announcer? He has an iconic voice

It has been a remarkable run for Tiger Stadium voices and continuity. I posted this a while back but am too lazy to go find the post, but over the last 55 years or so, we have had only 3 radio voices, 2 PA voices, and 2 band announcers.
So whether any of these people are great, awful, or in between in your opinion, 3 generations of LSU football fans have some combination of these voices ingrained in a LOT of their LSU experience.
I am a little too young to remember Sid Crocker and John Ferguson, so my Tiger Stadium experience for a long time was Borne' on the PA, Jim Mackey bringing the band on the field pregame and halftime, and Hawthorne in my earphones during the game. It was a top-notch experience that I appreciate more now than I did at the time.

I wouldn’t mind Ronnie Rantz as the PA guy as long as he did it in his Skip Bertman voice.

I will always remember hearing the” so-and-so, please report to the nearest courtesy phone so-and-so please report to the nearest courtesy phone”.
That hasn’t been said in a while

give it to Jimmy Ott. We can get betting tips while he eats dinner over the PA in Tiger Stadium
Why 74 downvotes? Did they wake up on the wrong side of the bed this morning?

Lots of Ott fans here I guess

It’s doubly sad because it seems wrong to use the catch phrases as well with the successor

Get Coach O to replace him. Could you imagine? Lol

Jimmy Ott would cause many fans to self mutilate themselves in the middle of the stadium. His stutter should be declared a national disaster

Right. I wonder if the new guy would ask permission to use some of them. When you really see them all written out, they are little moments that happen in each football game that are integral parts of an LSU game experience.

Only PA announcer I’ve ever known. Legend.
