If Person goes deep, you are saving a ton of arms for the weekend.

Person will pitch as long as Person is effective. 1, 2, 8 innings, doesn't matter. He's got the ball as long as he is getting outs.

You might be right. I don't have any inside info.

But, what I'm saying is that I disagree with that. I think he could be being effective and they are going to stick to a general schedule (Assuming he's not dominating). I could see them pulling him with a lead in the early part of the game.

. I think Person can keep them at bay 2 times through the lineup. If we get that from him, I'll be happy

hell yea, i'll be ecstatic. the pen can finish the last 3-4 innings.

we need the pitching staff to give us a chance to win the game. that's all. if the bats fail, then we shouldn't win anyways.

Do you really want a guy with a 6.75 ERA (Bain) in the last month away from Alex Box or the guy with a 2.70 (Person)?

This is taking in the results exactly month ago starting from the South Carolina series going into Omaha. (USC 3X, Auburn, Arkansas, Florida and TCU)

LSU is taking the wholestaff aproach tomorrow. Person gets the start with a short leash and is gone first sign of trouble after 1st inning. Take 2 innings, hoping for 3, anything more is a bonus type approach. He will pitch as long as hes effective and strong though. U play to win at all costs when in losers bracket, no matter who u are. The 1st game, u can do a lefty lefty thing and it is a calculated gamble. If u survive, have the advantage against the other winner with Lange. Thats how CPM went for it all versus just advancing. Seemed like the right decision as is starting Person to me.

I'm more concerned about how Person did in his last 2 appearances. His last appearance was 0.2 innings with 2 earned runs and his second to last appearance against Fl in the sec tourney he failed to get an out and gave up 1 earned run by giving up a walk and a hit to the two batters he faced. I hope those were just flukes because he was doing great before then.

CPM needs to pull any pitcher tomorrow the first time he sees any of the below from them:

1. A leadoff walk in any inning
2. Three consecutive smoked balls, even if outs
3. Anyone's FB consistently dip below 88 mph

Quick hooks. Don't let the scoreboard pull our pitcher. CPM, you do it.
