Very generous... I’ve yet to see a convincing win this year where both pitching and hitting are on point.

Ugh.

When being 13th in the Nation still means you're 6th in the conference.

That’s the LSU baseball bump just like Norte Dame gets in football.

Maybe so? Honestly haven’t watched any of those teams yet this year. I know it’s early, and CPM usually gets things tweaked, but we have some major flaws to correct this year.

Find me a shutdown Friday night pitcher and I’ll be a tad more optimistic “son”

Came into the season extremely overrated and were humbled a few weeks ago at Texas...PM teams usually improve during the season so we'll see.

Edit: Yes, LSU must find a Friday night starter.

I mean they have Vandy at 1 with 3 losses, so how generous is LSU's rank really?

Its not generous. Our fans lack national perspective on the sport

The ranking is fair. LSU isn’t playing close to a top 10 team at the moment

That we're a month into the season and don't have a single pitcher who is clearly better than the rest and can be comfortably relied on when Friday night comes is... concerning. At best.

Fire Javi.

The best 3 arms on this team are all freshman. Growing pains were expected. Their best days are ahead of them.

I know, man, and I sure as hell hope so. If one of them woke up this morning and realized that they were the man and went out and acted like it, that would be fanfrickingtastic. It takes pressure off the whole staff and everyone who can't or won't be the ace can then be free to find their own niche in the staff. As it is, with Johnny Wholestaff's lackluster almost timid pitching, we're making it way harder on the team as a whole.

Hell, the plate performance may be linked to the pitching performance. If you know your pitching staff is having trouble keeping men off the basepaths, you might be more apt to swing at and pop up that marginal first pitch instead of making the pitcher work until he throws one you really like. Could work the other way, too, I guess. Pitchers may be dancing around the strike zone to avoid giving up hits because the batters continually just give first or second pitch popups to the opponent.

College baseball's such a weird fickle superstitious awesome sport.
