This is why I keep trying to figure out why all these aggies are listing Texas as a big win.

Michael's rb coach at West Brook was coach Peveto......anyone recognize the name? He is the brother of LSU's former DC. I was on the sidelines for the last regular season game and heard that he hard a "soft offer" that would become an actual offer if "some kid from Leesville didnt commit."

EXACTLY.

Just because that box marked "offer" on rivals has a check mark doesn't mean shite. That just means Michael TOLD rivals he had an offer.

Christine Michael had what you might call a "conditional offer."

We wanted Ford, who we got. We also wanted Trent Richardson, who we held out for until the end. Michael's "soft offer" never became a "committable offer."

Same deal with Texas. Aggie fans just want to believe they outrecruited LSU and Texas, but this is not the case.

They should just be happy that we all missed on him. Kid is a stud.

cyrus gray

Averaged 1.4 ypc against a middle of the pack Arkansas defense. LSU should do just fine stopping him.

I think of more importance is the style of offense that A&M will run against us...we have success against the Pro-Style type of offenses. It would shock me if A&M just lined up and ran the ball at us with success for much of the game. Just don't see Gray running for 100+ yds on us.

Spread offenses...different story...seem to always give us fits.

nice blimp numb nuts, Cyrus was not even the feature back and only had 5 carries during the game in which CMike had 18 carries for 79 yards. Since Cyrus has been the starter, he averages 21 carries per game, 143 yards per game which comes out over 6 yards per carry.

and no we do not run a lot of zone read.

I concur. Dude lit up LSU. I guess it didn't hurt that he didn't get touched until he was 5yds past hte line of scrimmage, but nonetheless he was awesome.

It's not a big win, other than it's our rival.

But because their defense was capable, it's not absurd to measure our offense against it. I wouldn't brag about any defensive stats against them. Same thing with Baylor and their offense. I wouldn't brag about how well our offense handled their defense, but how we handled Griffin can tell us something.

I would say that their defense was pedestrian. Capable would not be the way I saw it this year.

Texas allowed 300.2 YPG this year. LSU allowed 301.7 YPG. Yes, Texas had some crappy games, maybe the ones you saw, but that's every team. If I only saw you play UNC and Mississippi, I wouldn't have a good grasp of what LSU defense can do.

Yeah, because they were always on a short field due to turnovers.

If every drive is a 20 yard drive, then the ypg will be low, even if the defense is giving up points.

Texas: 23.7 ppg
LSU: 17.8 ppg (2nd in the SEC)

Just to put that in perspective, 23.7 ppg would place Texas at #8 in the SEC, if they played in our conference.

I love the my Tigers, but these 3 players will have their hands full with Texas A&M.

If we take A&M lightly, they will BEAT US !!!

Just ask Texas and Oklahoma.

OU is also the winner of the Big 12 title game--they'll take that "sucking" every day of the week, and twice on Sunday.

Nah, there is a distinction between what Auburn did to LSU and what Arkansas did.

If we played Auburn again, I don't think things would be any different. If we played Arkansas again, I think things would be very different.

LSU was able to stop Arkansas' offense for big chunks of that game...but the big plays killed us. Obviously, you have to give Arkansas some credit for some of those plays...but two very long TDs were a direct result of an atypical mistake made by Hatcher.

OU will also lose to Uconn in the Fiesta Bowl. I would bet $1000 on this happening.

OK...so maybe that is a stretch. I can't even see Stoops losing to Uconn
