I can remember a number of posters here bashing B.Logan for leaving early and now he's a starting DT for the Eagles. Fans are just selfish and they use the "they are missing out on the glory of LSU" banner to try and hide the selfishness.

You do realize they win rings in nfl too right.....big diamond laced ones......
As for short term vs long term......this argument is also stupid because even 1 crappy year and some good advice and you could come back and finish on your own dime with money in your pocket.

Bennie Logan 3rd round pick (4 year deal) base salary:
405k
530k
650k
793k
Michael Ford Undrafted FA (3 year deal) base salary:
405k
495k
585k
If you aren't first round there isn't much of a difference in draft stock, it's been proven. New CBA. Deal with it. Move along.

No reason for top talent to stay? The team is better with them leaving?
What does not being a surprise have to do with anything?

Exactly man. I mean yeah, I would LOVE to have someone like Landry or Beckham return for their senior year. But I'm sure Clemson would like to have Sammy Watkins next year as well. It is inevitable when you have players with that much talent.

I'm still waiting on the whiners to provide a list of non-football LSU students at ANY grade who would not forgo school immediately if offerred the above contract.
That's gonna be a short list and then, if I asked the kids on that list what their decision would be if I told them they could lose that contract in a serious and career ending Calculus injury while in school, that list would get damned short.

you can always go back to school, You can't always go to the NFL.
never going to be upset with someone trying to make money while they can.
besides the time frame in which one can play in the league is so small that these kids need to go while they can. this is why you recruit a certain way.

Some kids will get 4 year degrees and won't top that 3 year income for 20 years.

Meh. They'll always be Tigers, but I really don't care if we have 11 or 0 DBs in the league.
guess you are a fan of 6-6 seasons then...

Hell 99.9% of the posters in this thread will not have accumulated that amount in salary by the time they are 38 years old. The only reason I am not saying 100% is because maybe there is 1 doctor or lawyer in this thread that will make that much.

Because that has been the alternative, right?

Heck. Average college grad salary is $44K. Let's be kind and say they walk out with double that. 16 years!
Just make the average? 33 years!!
You'd have to be borderline insane to turn that shite down!!!

quote:Nope. They'd stay for the "college life.....AKA chasing college pussy". Can't do that if you're making $400K per year as a 22 year old......oh......wait, yes you can!!
they wouldn't leave if they went to ALABAMA!

Salmon:
Yes Bama is the team we are chasing. Maybe because their top talent does not leave early at the same rate as they do at LSU.

It may be a trend, but, it may not. There is literally no way to tell.

Give us an example of 2013 Bama roster who stayed instead of leaving to help them go 11-2 and win one more game than our team who sent a record out and went 10-3?

I can't believe people on here try to actually slant this as a knock or bad thing on LSU. Some of you people on here are pathetic.
