We are weak at every level of the defense from a technique, strength, and athleticism standpoint.
Technique never getting better is the one that makes me want to fire House. How the hell does a 2 million dollar coach never.get.the guys doing the basics correctly. What the hell do they do during practice.
There were so many fixable things that could have made the defense better. They were still not lining up in time against ATM. Tackling never improved. Gap responsibility never got better. It's ridiculous how much LSU paid for a sub 100 defense.
And that's not even getting into House's zone read and react defensive mindset. His basic defense is the opposite of what LSU has built its defensive legacy one. I think we should always be an attacking man to man defense and that's not what House believes.
It so sad we wasted the #1 offense in the land and might be considering bringing back the 2 million dollar coach that was responsible for it.

Scoring defense ranking
2008 #58 (5 losses)
2009 #10
2010 #13
2011 #2
2012 #10
2013 #21
2014 #6 (5 losses; scoring offense was ranked #85)
2015 #35
2016 #5
2017 #15
2018 #39
2019 #29
2020 #95 *10 SEC games instead of 8 and many teams in other conferences did not play full schedules (5 losses)
2021 #75 (7 losses)
2022 #31
2023 #86
For reference in this 2023 season for top 12 teams that don't have top scoring defenses:
Oklahoma #31
Washington #40
Missouri #42
Ole Miss #45
Brooks, Wingo, Alexander, JK Johnson missed time, but even with that help would they really have gotten the ranking up to the top 40 where history says it should be?
Whatever coach Kelly does, he has to get the scoring defense into the top 40 to 45 at worst to be competing for SEC and playoffs.

He also said it's not confirmed, only speculation from people he has talked to.
Sometimes all you have to do is listen to what the head coach says, when asked about House. It amazing how that works. Kelly constantly praised House, defended House by saying the defense improved. WHEN?? When did the defense ever improve this year??? Never got better. All we heard was, "yeah, maybe we should let Perkins spy the QB."
If for no other reason, House needs to be fired for fricking making Perkins a non factor this year.

forget what the rumor was exactly. Seems he tried to start some kind of a organized protest within 104.5
I think so.. He definitely tried to divide the talent.
