I do not agree. I would have chose differently. I would have hired the best NCAA attorneys/PR representatives and fought for LSU and WW.
Even with ensuing sanctions do you not realize the long term loyalty that would have developed from WW, future recruits and the fanbase?
Sure it would have been tumultuous. But the program would have been stronger in the long run.
But it remains tumultuous and the future is very uncertain. MM has zero loyalty toward LSU and if he does a good job of rebuilding the program the chances of him leaving LSU are much greater than what could have been with WW and his LSU loyalty. WW and his family loved LSU.

I will never understand why people put more value in a media guy’s opinion vs the opinion of the average fan. Everyone has opinions. Sometimes those opinions include bias, an agenda, etc. A radio host is no different.

I wish Woody could have gone to bat for him but honestly you are comparing the WW case to other recent coaches cases and you can not do that. I believe Woody would have gone to bat for him but Wade was just too sloppy. He used his own phone and bank account and was caught on federal wire tap. There is no getting around that.

We absolutely could be a tournament team
next year. I don’t see how some of you have just completely missed how the portal has changed the game. You can turn you entire roster over every year and still consistently be a tournament team. We bring in 4-5 more solid transfers and we are as good as we were this year. A couple of those transfers really hit and we could be better. The idea that next season is a lost year is just idiocy. It completely ignores what has happened in college basketball the last couple of years. It’s the thinking of somebody stuck in the past

We have no clue at this point whether next years team will be a cellar dweller or a tournament team. All depends on the portal which is going good so far. Gumbo is just being negative to support Wade which is not necessary. I loved Wade and wish things were different. They aren’t and we have to move on. Wade’s team would have been great next year but it never materialized so there is no point in crying about it. We could easily be as good as the last 2-3 Wade coached teams next year. Just need to keep hitting the portal for the right pieces and there is a ton of options available
