It's like the whole coaching staff just wasn't ready for success.
Potential tying TD:
"Oh shite, we scored? Run the fade"
"Wait, what? They interfered? Run the same fricking play."
Post onside kick:
"now that we are inside field goal range what should we do?"
"I know, throw the ball...TWICE!"
Post Tolliver catch:
"SAY WHAT? We actually made it to the 5? Maybe we should have told the players what to do if we got back into field goal range but didn't get the TD."
Maybe they should have had the fricking kicking team ready!
I'm sorry guys, but the last few minutes of this game was a complete coaching failure and it made Houston Nutt Job (of all people) look like the better coach.
BTW, I can't see what he is saying in the video. I think all of you guys are just assuming he is saying "Clock it" because I just can't see it.

We would have been better trying a field goal on first down there. That is absurd, but somehow someway Miles fricked it up even worse than that. :mother fricking casty:

I think it's clear. He say's clock it twice, and is about to say it again.

Asking the cop if he had a TO is priceless. I think it says a lot that I can now laugh about this.

Yep, he says "clock it" and signals with the hand motion. That's a fact. However, no one knows if he thought we had 2 seconds or 1 second left. If 2 seconds, the call is the right one.
Regardless, however, Les was ill prepared for 1 second. Had he had the FG unit ready on the sideline, then he has both options available to him....spike it or kick it.
Asking the cop about the TO is priceless. Fire his arse.

My biggest problem is with Les saying in interviews that timeouts were being called "verbally" and he thought that one was called with 26 seconds left. Are we to believe that no one on the coaching staff realized that the clock was still ticking for 17 seconds? Give me a break! That, to me, is a bigger "duh" moment than the craziness at the end.

Bingo. How in the hell are you not shoving your hands in the ref's face yourself as the head coach as soon as the 2nd sack happened? It was bad enough you f'ed up by calling the play, but then to add insult to injury you don't do anything to redeem it.

I'm just getting on today and hearing Miles claimed he was screaming "He is down!"? Is this true? No fricking way that's what he's saying.
Posted on 11/23/09 at 2:28 pm to ligerbait
it doesn't even make sense that he would screaming for him to spike the ball at this point. the clock was stopped until they moved the damn chains. why would he be screaming to down the ball at this point? makes no sense whatsoever.

I read his lips and thought he said, don't clock it.

yeah dipshit which is why he is making the clock it move. And if you think its the he was down signal then your argument is still shot.

No.... They got any deaf, lip-reading ranters out there who want to show that most of us are right?

In his press conf.. he says the "initial view showed 3 seconds"... not sure when that changed or what the initial view was.. everyone says the scoreboard is "not official".. if you are a coach how do you get "official time" in this situation?
Posted on 11/23/09 at 2:52 pm to ligerbait
Even when I try, I can't make that look like "clock it".
