I don't know, and if you saw my post earlier, I clearly stated he was to blame for not firing him a year earlier. It was reported he interviewed a couple of candidates, maybe he didn't like what he heard. It's possible he wanted Kragthorpe, but Kragthorpe was still dealing with his wife's issues so he waited a year. There were also the rumors that Alleva wouldn't let him fire Crowton because of the buyout.
Well that feeds into what Crowton is quoted as saying as it applies to last year.
1. Les wanted him gone the year before, but couldn't fire him
2. The implication is Les took more of a role in the offseason prior to last year to ensure his vision was implemented to a degree.
If 1 is true, then 2 would seem to be true as it doesn't violate your "can't make changes during the year argument".
If 2 was not true, why didn't Les step in during the previous offseason? If he did, Crowton is speaking some truth.
There we have it, a logical discussion that led to a similar conclusion as Crowton himself.
Have a great day.

yes, you've created perfect logic to lead to the wrong conclusion, just like Crowton did....congratulations

And thats why we needed a last second drive with a fake field goal, that was inches from losing us the game, and needing Florida's D to blitz at the right time in order for us to even win that game
Perhaps, but then again maybe the Gator 90 yd K/O in the 4th quarter after we went up 26-14 and their 50 yd pass completion on 3th and 8 from the Fla 22 that caused us to have to scramble to win and not that fact we kicked a FG toward the end of the 1st half w/o taking a shot at the end zone after running 5 plays in the final minute of the half.
As I said, when you have limitations at your QB slot as everyone in the free world knows we were having in the 1st part of last season, it's not surprising to take the points in a safe way rather than put your team in position to lose the points and game Mo when you on the road at Fla. imo
I could understand one end zone shot too, but there are good reasons be conservative at that point in the game and just take the safe points. imo

Benedict Arnold Crowton, saying "No, it was't my offense."
That the kind of man we the LSU tiger fans had as LSU Offense Coordinator.
Thank God he is gone.

No matter who's offense it was, and who was calling the plays, there is no excuse for the LACK OF EXECUTION. That is ALL on him. See the numerous 2-minute drills run by Jimbo Fisher's LSU offense in 05 and 06. Then look at that hold on for one more year (mostly) in 07, with a lot of Fisher's seniors still in the lineup, as well as one of his QBs. Then watch it all go to crap the next year.
Stronger QB fundamentals and better overall execution would have made LSU at least an average offense over the last two years, no matter who called the plays. Just watch. Maryland will have a great O this year, be so-so next year, and then, well, you already know the rest. Book it.

He is right, it was his bad play calling and his inability to work with and develop QBs.

What else can he say ? He told that same BS lie to Maryland during the interview process.
