“I don’t think crowd noise is a huge factor for [Clemson],” Jones said. “It’s a little bit overrated in how much people think it impacts the game. Certainly, there are times when you can’t hear. I think if you’re an inexperienced team that can affect you. … Think about Clemson. Every stadium they go to the fans are jacked up, juiced up for the first quarter yelling as loud as they possibly can. They’re used to that. They’ve practiced it. They’ve played in that environment so many times. They’ll be fine.”

Even if the crowd is 40% LSU, it’s going to be louder than they’ve ever experienced.

They’ve no idea.

What’s the Over/Under on false starts attributed to the crowd? I’m guessing at least 3.

He didn't get the memo. It's in Russia against Drago and basically like playing the game in Baton Rouge.

I think you’re overestimating the impact of the crowd at a neutral site, 70k-seat stadium.

ETA: Even it’s 70% LSU, that’s still only 50k. That’s less than half of Tiger Stadium’s capacity.

Unfortunately, the crowd at these games are not very loud. Considering that, and a crowd split 60-40ish it won’t be that bad for them. We have this over excited discussion for all of these big games and it never turns out the way we like to think it would.

I’ll take the under on false starts and delays attributed to noise.

The crowd that shows up with these ticket prices may not be the same composition of LSU fans that attend normal games

This is a different animal. An environment they have never played in before. LSU is SO fast on that turf....and the crowd will be nuts.

At these ticket prices, the fans in attendance aren’t your full-throated, hard hat wearing, blue collar fans or students that fill up half of the stadium for home games.

And if you’re one of those OT rich dudes who’s bringing your side piece to the dome and you think I’m wrong, well, prove me wrong!

If you use a hand signals for play calls and a silent count, crowd noise doesn’t matter unless there is an audible. Crowd noise is a very overrated part of football.

It’s going to be an awesome atmosphere for sure, but it won’t be the reason one team wins.

Everything about this is wrong... Clemson has been to 3 out of the last 4 national championships, so I think this is an environment they have played in before. If you think that there is going to be a massive LSU crowd noise advantage in the dome then you have obviously never been to a Natty Game.

That being said, LSU wins, but not because Clemson is gonna be overwhelmed by the LSU crowd in the dome, or because LSU is so much faster on turf.

Don’t go full retard. We’ve played at TAMU. UGA. Auburn, UofSC in the last view years. Or do those not count? SEC and whatnot.

Even IF there’s 50k LSU fans, which there won’t be, you think they’ll be louder than those venues? No.

nah crowd should not be a factor

also this is not NFL with verbal playcalls in huddle and verbal audibles at LOS

they use placards. just like hand signals. noise has zero affect on that

they can use a silent snap count. lineman just have to watch center when he moves his head prior to snap. This is where college has an advantage over pro

Almost half the stadium will be orange. Crowd noise won’t be a factor.
