He’s talking about normal baseball strategy where you’d prefer your OFer call off the guy running backwards and make the play. And he also could’ve ran anywhere near the ball and fielded it if it wasn’t caught.
Pretty normal baseball stuff.
Not to mention it almost looked like Brown had no idea where the ball even was anyway.
