People picked because his average was low. He was never given an oppurtunity to stack up some at bats to help his average, sgowbthat he ca have good at bats and his rep. Not to mention has played stellar defense

Yep, he’s earned playing time. Keep Jobert in RF and Berry at DH.

Well with this lineup we can afford to give up some offense for his defense. Not to mention that his play has helped the entire infield pick up their play. Defense is visually contagious. They see him making these plays, that can easily spill over and build their confidence. His bat is a bonus.

I’m not sure what they said or did before this series but keep that energy on offense, improve on defense, and with our pitchers growing we could make a nice run. At least set us up for a run next year.

His defense at 3rd has been great. But to his bat come alive has been awesome.

Cranford has some awful at bats the majority of the time. He’s only playing because Dugas is out

But it only takes a game like this to get his offense going and confidence up. He hasn’t had any momentum to ride from the plate but that’s changed. That doesn’t mean he’ll continue but imo this lineup with Berry at DH and Cranford at 3rd is the balance we’ve needed.

There’s plenty of offense even if he doesn’t continue to hit. We can use him to bunt players over when needed. When Berry gets healthy they could move him into left field and let Dugas DH or vise versa. They just need to stay aggressive like they have been this series and we’ll be fine.

We didn’t get 21 runs because Vandy pitched well. I hope Cranford can stay in the lineup, but I would not take this weekend’s results as an augury of things to come.

I was thrilled to see him breaking out. He was the weak link, but man did he come through today. Persistence pays off.
