What Hughes has is a lack of talent. I do not believe his struggles are due to a lack of effort. Willis was one of the top prospects in the country coming out of high school. Hughes wasn't even a top 50 player at his position.

Number 4 ranked catcher in the nation coming out of high school. I’m guessing the DH and 1b talk is due to some arm issues.

Talent only takes you so far. You have to put in the work to make something of yourself. There is always another talented player just like him that is willing to put in the work to take your spot. So suck it up and work harder!
