Just in time for tomorrow night!!!
Cox Launches ESPNU in HD
Agreement reached to provide HD coverage to Baton Rouge, Lafayette and New Orleans markets
BATON ROUGE, LA – Cox Louisiana today announced that it had reached agreement with ESPN to launch ESPNU HD effective today. The network will appear on Cox channel 785 in the Baton Rouge, Lafayette, and New Orleans markets. ESPNU’s digital signal will remain on Cox channel 243.
“We knew this was an important addition for our customers. We are glad we could reach agreement in time for this weekend’s SEC kickoff between LSU and Vanderbilt,” said Colleen Levy, vice president of Marketing for Cox.
Due to technical issues, ESPNU HD will not launch at this time in St. Mary and St. Martin Parishes. ESPNU’s digital channel 243 will be available to customers in those markets. The HD signal is expected to launch in those parishes next week in time for the LSU vs. UL-Lafayette game which will air on ESPNU HD.

Is 1210 am going to have to pull their Eatel commercials bashing Cox for not having the LSU game in HD?

I'm sending Eatel a thank you card. They probably pushed Cox to make this move quicker than they wanted to.
