Not even close for this situation

Alright then. In the eighth inning, protecting a two run lead, who would you have gone with?

If you would have paid attention to the thread, I said to pull him AFTER the 8th inning

Mayers

This. I know he’s inconsistent but when he’s on you can’t hit him. I would like to see him get into a groove and turn into a reliable bullpen arm going into the postseason.

Rizzy. Williams. Anybody but Cowan after we all saw how the 8th went

Rizy's last two outings combined have been 1 out and 3 earned runs. Williams may have fared better, but we will never know. I still trust Cowan more than any other fresh arm in the pen last night.

All these cute little cliches don’t mean shite!

After his performance in the 8th inning he should have not been out there for the 9th.

I was wanting Cowan out early in the ninth. He just didn’t have it. I understand coach wanting to leave him in to keep from hurting the kid’s confidence for future games, but I think leaving him in to blow the lead may have been worse. I’m pulling for Cowan to come back strong. Glad I’m not the coach!

This team needs another arm in the bullpen to step up. I would love to see Mayers be that guy.

Gotta wonder if Jay had a reason for it. It could have been to see if he could fight thru it needing him down the stretch. Or letting him work out of the funk he's in. It could be several things at play. Unless we lose all 3 games this 1 game shouldn't hurt us with seeding etc.

People keep forgetting that he pitched out of a bases loaded jam late to preserve a 1 run win vs Arkansas just last Friday. Cowan wasn’t as good as we was earlier in the season, but he looked better in that outing than he did last night. Jay was probably hoping he could pull it together and deliver the same result.

It obviously didn’t work out, but again, that was just one week ago and it was likely what Jay was thinking about leaving him in.

Time to look at firing JJ. Him not seeing that Cowan is a complete liability is unacceptable.

Ban this a-hole. He’s either a troll or an alter and it’s obvious to anyone looking at his posts.

So you would start Cowan ? Umm no I don’t think so he is getting hit bad all teams are doing now are sitting on change up ! He may be good for one time through the line up but that’s it !

It’s sad it’s apparent around here Cowan cant be trusted anymore.

That puts us at 3 reliable pitchers for a postseason run now. Going to take a 2023 type run to win it all and Wes Johnson ain’t here no mo’

The good thing about baseball is that it only takes one good outing to change that!

I still believe in Cowan, just hope he gets out this small funk
