The money was due long before the restrictions were put in place. We were not allowed to get a refund for this year without giving up rights to those seats in all future years. It's my hope that these ignorant coercion tactics will subside before next season. I'm willing to eat the cost of the seats if I can't sell them to others who are less willing to stand up for themselves. Like I said, choices have consequences and often require sacrifice.

Zero chance.

In normal times, it has been widely documented that Tiger Stadium has actually had over 100K physically in the stadium maybe once or twice EVER. I think a Florida game and an Alabama game, and that is it.

And that was before Covid/8:00 start/LSU going woke/People generally being displeased with the cost of everything from parking to concessions.

Tomorrow ain't the night when 97K will show up to the stadium.

I’ve been to every game (Mississippi State included) and haven’t seen a single fan wearing a mask at all. The only people who have them are concession workers and not even all of them do. People are getting very turned off by the covid stuff but it’s all just for show. They say it so they can cover their bases with the governor, but it’s just like normal once you get there. No one checks IDs to match vax cards or LAwallet app pics so you can use someone else’s and a lot of people are.

There was an article in the Advocate a few years ago where LSU event management people said as much...that maybe only once or twice were there actually over 100K in the stadium and that there were always a couple thousand tickets not used, even for the biggest games.

Yep. Most of the season tickets "sold" this year are really those paid for and rolled over from 2020. So the tickets were purchased LONG before any of the restrictions were implemented. Hell, maybe even before the "pandemic" started.

There is some number of season ticket holders that didn't want to give up their rights to the tickets (a condition for a refund) but also don't want to participate in the politics of using LSU football as a leverage play to force a political agenda. So while the tickets are paid for, there won't be asses in those seats (unless they were sold to someone else).

It will be interesting to see what LSU does after this season. The cost for season tickets will be due well before the first game of 2022. I'm sure many season ticket holders will want to know if the same restrictions will be in place. Will LSU attempt to be honest? Or will they bait and switch their fanbase after the check clears?

I'm not sure I have ever seen LSU advertising "lower level tickets for sale" on the athletic website just a few days before a really big SEC showdown in Tiger Stadium.

Am I wrong?

There are always tickets available but not sure I've seen the athletic department having to hawk tickets this close to a game.

You clowns that let politics control your feelings are no better than the snowflakes on the other side.

And you don’t even have to get the shot if you’re don’t want it to get in the fricking stadium in the first place.

Probably 10x that amount that will just go unused.

My guess was 85k in actual attendance.

The short answer for me is...because I can. I more than offset the cost of tickets by planning to stop my annual gift.

My 4 won’t be used. I’m certain there are others like me who won’t list them because of the hassle and won’t use them for the reasons stated.

While I hope that we pack the stadium and make this place alive again like it should be, if that doesn't happen it will serve to hopefully prove a point about how ridiculous these restrictions are. If that does happen then the University needs to feel all the heat for putting up a front for optics only, only to be embarrassed by a horrible turnout for a big time home game in primetime.

Like I said, I hope it is packed and rocking, but if it isn't it will be a well deserved embarrassment, when you have literally every other school in the SEC at full capacity with no restrictions.
