I know that both will play, but if Jennings is the starter, why not just announce it? What surprise do you gain? But, if Harris is the starter, I see the benefit of waiting till 2 days before the game to keep the pressure down this week in the build up.

I still think that the starter will be Jennings just because of the pressure of opening a game with a true freshman QB would be hard and why disrespect Jennings that way if you plan to play him anyway. Just trying to figure out the angle on the Thursday announcement.

Like the typical Ranter, you are over-thinking the situation and trying way to hard. Take a deep breath. It will be ok.

At least, we have two QBs that ranters are going crazy about.

As long as Les and co. know who the starter is, I don't really give a shite if they announce it before the game or not.

1. It was a question for discussion
2. That is what a message board is for
3. Asking about who LSU's starting QB might be during game week of the first game is hardly "over thinking
4. Is there such thing as a "typical" ranter?

Did Coach say he was announcing the starter PUBLICLY on Thursday? Or did he say he was going to notify the PLAYERS on Thursday?

I like Miles strategy keeping it close. Making the guys compete until the end under constant pressure. If you can handle that pressure you are more likely to handle game pressure which comes with the QB territory.

Plus definitely it is good pre season hype from a marketing stand point.

I have a feeling that the players already know who is going to start.

Miles already said last week both will play.
Jennings will start and Harris will play at least one snap

I think it's beneficial to wait until right before the game to announce, whoever the starter may be.
Jackass.

I have A thought. How about that it doesn't matter who the starter is.

The only way the public will know who the starter is, is when he trots out onto the field.

Miles has already informed his QB's who the starter will be.

delaying the official announcement till thurs gives Wisc no time to prepare for who he announces.

which doesn't make sense since they can't really prepare for #6 anyway at least with using tape.

Exactly. He isn't announcing anything. Wednesday is always his last media availability prior to a game.

It shocks me that people still worry about starters even after they are announced on a team that announced the same guy as a starter at two positions in 2007 and a coach who has routinely had "a want" to get a guy into a game and not gotten that guy into the game. You can't predict it because Les is crazy like a fox and paranoid. You'll have to wait until Saturday like the rest of us.
