Best case scenario for LSU...blow people out and give rivers as many snaps as possible. Use bolden as a holder, emergency QB in case the top 2-3 go down. He is a deer in the headlights.

I would take him over alabama's backup right now though

Can we PLEASE not have JJ threads. Please.

We're all still healing from 3 years of it.

He actually has 3 to play 2

I've watched Bolden play numerous times both in person and on TV. He had some success as a freshman then regressed as a Sophomore. His QB coach (Jay Paterno) wasn't a big fan favorite in Happy Valley and many blamed him for the regression of Bolden.

Bolden has talent and maybe Kragthorpe can turn him into a capable backup. I'll be rooting for him to be successful in whatever role he plays for the Tigers. Even if he never takes a meaningful snap for LSU I hope he takes this opportunity and gets and education and maybe some leadership skills.

You know I really want this to be true that he is a backup to Mett. No more than a backup. I am just a little bit concerned that we will install a package for him to run the option. That would ruin pretty much all our expectations and/or relief after what passed for QB last year.
I would also add, and this is something no one has pointed out, but many higher echelon SEC teams season will be ruined if their starter went out with an injury. But we are the only ones going after a dual threat QB, one who has a lot of potential, but has never lived up to his talent; something which is all too familiar to LSU fans.

This is my fear as well...the "we want to give them a different look" excuse. I'm calling my fear PJSD.

Why? If someone said RGIII or Russell Wilson were transferring, my reaction would be completely different. Those two guys are talented and I would take either in a heartbeat. Has nothing to do with race except to you.

really? we're going to this? is it 2009 in here?

Jesus people...let it go already. We'll never have another black QB that can run without some idiot comparing him to JJ before he arrives on campus

Let's see if I understand what's going on in here today.

Some of you have your jockeys in a jumble over something that in all probablilty will never happen?

You are obsessing over something over which you have NO control?

Is that about right?

Why do we need or want this guy?

quote:

Through eight starts and 10 games in 2011, he completed only 53 of 135 passes (39.3 percent) for 685 yards with seven interceptions and two touchdowns for a lowly efficiency rating of 76.4.

I think we can legitimately address concerns about Bolden, and his potential without bringing his race into it. I agree, people are scarred emotionally after JJ's performance in the last 3 seasons and need to let it go but the similarities are uncanny.
I believe it has not much to do with race, and I say that knowing a portion of our fan base are just plain assholes. But we just don't want to see another QB like JJ, whether he is black or white.

looks like you've already made up your mind on him. why would i have to justify him being on the field?
