That's a terrible argument. Jamarcus isn't in the NFL, so by that logic do you think he wasn't a good college QB?

Per Rivals

On the Hoof: Has excellent height, long arms and an athletic, basketball-player build. He could easily end up playing at 225 pounds and still keep his impressive athleticism. He physically will remind fans of LSU’s Jordan Jefferson.

He's worse than Jefferson if you look at his stats. Plus throw in the fact that he played a much easier schedule than Jefferson did in the SEC anyway.

doesn't matter...he'll likely never see the field. at least not in any important role
What part of last season did you miss? And for that matter, what part of the several last seasons did you miss, when JJ started, played, or in some way was not riding the bench when that would have been the best place for him to be?

Watched Bolden play against Alabama. He's a quick runner and would be good for play action, a different look than Mettenberger will give. I've read somewhere he was the 4th ranked QB prospect nationally when Penn State got him. Whether poor QB coaching or just poor development he just hasn't blossomed. The Fox sports site said this past spring that neither of Penn State's QBs were of Big Ten caliber.

Perhaps Coach just wants to have another look to give defenses--gives them more to prepare for. And I've always thought it was JJ going into the November Alabama game that was the winning difference. Sending Bolden in if Mett were hurt might be better than throwing in a RS freshman. Bolden has played against some very good teams under pressure, including Alabama.

He is an INSURANCE policy and special plays QB for now.
1 Jr. and 3 Fr on our QB roster.
Mett goes down...we need a little experience.

Mett's play will dictate Bolden's play

No the difference between Jefferson and Bolden is Coach Miles fantasized about Jefferson running the football and Bolden can be put in to actually score a touchdown using his arm and his feey. Also I think Bolden is smart enough to run the option zone reads.
