Cotton Bowl can be great in a couple of ways.

If we win it will likely be against a much better opponent than we would have played in another bowl. If we lose then miles wil have a long time to think about our defensive issues, and after playing Texas, Texas Tech, or Oklahoma, or even Mizzou, those issues will be very fresh on people's minds.

This would be good for Tiger fans in the Dallas area. There are a lot of us here.

Sorry guys, you all just don't have the horses to take on the upper teir of the Big 12. I don't mean this as an insult, but guys this is not the year. The only team that has a chance is the winner of the SECCG, and thats Forida. Alabama would get stomped!! Nick Saban has been lucky so far, but if he plays the Big 12 he's going down too.

then why did they spend all of that money renovating it???

The Cotton Bowl IS NOT the only game during the year, or the only venue possible.

PS:
MOST people will make it a long weekend with
Thurs (1st off), Friday-Sat-Sun

SI is predicting that it will LSU/Oklahoma in the Cotton Bowl. Either it's going to be tough.
Good Luck!!!

I think LSU would fare well against those teams, mainly because we will have time to prepare, will be healthy and rested, and a big underdog.

The preparation will all be in vain if LSU keeps the same lame defensive scheme. Any of the possible opponents from the Big XII would put up huge passing numbers against Malleveto's shitty defense.

but the main one is that it being played in the middle of the day on a day where most people are scheduled to work.
I would think most people don't have to work that day, or have the ability to take it off. Even if it wasn't a holiday for me, I would most certainly take the day off.

Why did they move this game off of Jan 1st?

Because they got tired of Nielsen ratings that show people changing the channel as soon as there is another game to be seen, aka during the 2nd quarter over to the Outback Bowl, Cap-One Bowl,etc..

Because people hate sitting in the freezing windswept plains of Dallas at 10AM..

Because even the fans of the teams in the game, hate being on the road and traveling back from the game, when the Rose and Orange are on..

Etc..
