This was pre-Internet and pre-HDTV explosion. We're now fat, spoiled and lazy.

the coach that lost that game, hard to believe what a big deal he is now.
Nick Saban was a total unknown outside Mich State circles. I remember thinking later, when he was hired by LSU - "Great. This is the coach Gerry Dinardo beat in the Independence Bowl."

That game was great. I snuck onto the sidelines in the fourth quarter and stood with the players, holding a stadium cup sized Jack and Coke.

The fans weren't the only ones who had a blast. The players were so happy and excited with the win they mobbed together on the field, jumping up and down.

I remember Kennison. And the cold. And the beer lines. And the bathroom lines.

Mussin Muhammed, long time Panther WR, was on that MSU team. Tony Banks was the QB, did he play for St. Louis for a while?

Seen Nicky Savoie in that clip. I seen him at Academy in Houma Friday too. That was certainly fun times to be a Tiger fan.
