4th quarter play calling after the last TD was a joke man.
6 plays for 4 net yards, 4 runs Punt
Run, Run, Run, Pass, Run, Pass

3 plays for Minus 1 net yard, 2 runs Punt
Run, RuN, Pass

3 plays for 1 net yard, 3 runs, Punt
Run, Run, Run

Sounds pretty damn familiar to me. RUN, RUN, Pass.
Got the lead, bleed the clock, go to prevent and watch the defensive yards pile up.

we shouldn't run the ball when up by 21 points in the 4th quarter?

quote:

Run, Run, Run, Pass, Run, Pass

1st down, gain of 6, 1st down, 15 yard offensive PI penalty, gain of 7, incomplete

Throwing killed that drive

quote:

3 plays for Minus 1 net yard, 2 runs Punt
Run, RuN, Pass

bad drive only 6 minutes left in the game though and up by 2 scores. Hard to lose unless you turn it over

quote:

3 plays for 1 net yard, 3 runs, Punt
Run, Run, Run

You want us to throw up by 2 scores with 3 minutes left?

I don't know other than the fact you completely take the offensive mind set that got you the lead out of the game. You are no longer working to make the team better with every play, you are just wasting time. This type on mentality has lost you games in the past. It makes your players complacent and puts a hell of strain on your defense.

First off, we really didn't go that conservative. Secondly, going conservative, rotating younger guys in, etc. is the most efficient, easy and safest way to get out with a win on a nasty playing surface. The game wasn't really in doubt, we had been running at will in the first half. I don't know what more you want.

I provided the play by pay summary that every person said did not change from start to finish. The offense went into a hole and lost all momentum which went to Auburn. I want play calls that get you first downs when the box is stacked because the other team knows how you work with a lead. But it really doesn't matter what I say until we lose again like the past few years because of stupid coaching philosophies like this. Stanford, Oregon, OSU, Louisville, etc. showed how you play a full game. This team did not play a full game.

who said that? People said that it didn't change UNTIL the fourth quarter. Coaching 101 says to shorten the game when up by 3 scores in the 4th quarter

When did LSU blow a multiple score lead by sitting on the ball? I'd agree with you if it was a 3 point game and a 1st down ices it.

guess you missed the louisville game last week. Oregon scored ZERO 4th quarter points last game, Stanford 10, etc.

None of which have crystals in the past decade, and unlikely to get it this year, so not impressed.

Otherwise, FWIW, I agree the team didn't play a full game. But my issue is with the offensive play calling being the automatic culprit, and of course, Miles. The defensive execution is the bigger culprit here to me. All those plays and yds AU racked up late, they came after the defense gave up a friggin 3rd and 12 from the AU 10! Blame them.

In the second half , Chavis went to a cover 2 or cover 3 depending on down and distance, while rotating in 2nd and 3rd teamers.

I just think we did that too early. Maybe closer to the end of the 3rd Quarter and another TD lead I would feel better about the strategy.

The good news is - the youngsters didn't look out of place and they got good experience against Auburn.

Miles has no killer instinct. When it was 21-0 we should have put them away. Another score in the first half would have done it.

First play of the FOURTH quarter was a fuggin TD pass. Next possession in the FOURTH quarter, we ran twice for a first then threw 2 of the next three plays before punting, all while up 21 in the FOURTH QUARTER.

There's a bunch of no nothing asshats in this fanbase that dream up shite to bash LSU about.

What's funny, when the defense does well,
CHAVIS
When the offense does well, CAM
Regardless of which one does poorly, BOO LES. Friggin morons have no clue.

CLM was playing the odds and didn't want to reveal too much. The new SEC with this spread offense will not allow that. He better score 100 on Saturday.

I didn't like it and I think it could cost us a game. Was hoping that would only be in our past but I see we still have those lapses where Miles/Cam just seem to decide to shut down the offense. This attitude that we will just line up and overpower them no matter what the defense is doing. Whether the box is stacked or not. It's like we stop going with the flow and suddenly decide to just try to overpower the D. Never really works out very well.

They stacked the box, but we didnt adjust. It was poor playcalling.

When you see an 8th guy in the box, and sometimes a 9th, audibling to a pass is a must just about, majority of time it will not be a successful run.

I think we should let the posters on the Rant, that think like you, coach the team for one season. After going 0-12, maybe ya'll will shut the frick up.

The only reason they stayed in the game in the second half was they completed two long passes. Previously, we intercepted two of their long passes.

Yeah, it's been a couple days and I'm having a hard time being critical of a 14 pt SEC win. The defense is a bit worrisome more so than the offense but I think it'll improve. And I don't know if Chavis was rotating backups in the 2nd half.
