Inducted into the FCA Hall of Fame. Great man who has been a pillar of the LSU family for a long time. I remember him always encouraging students, not just players anytime he came across them. Class Act!

Great guy! It’s why he’s been here through about 6 HC’s.

His HS relationships back in the day were deep rooted. Coaches loved him.

I remember when I was I was at LSU football camp at around age 12 or 13. Me and a buddy overslept at Kirby Smith and decided to try and walk to the practice facility. Nader saw us walking and picked us up and gave us a ride. Didn’t get on to us and didn’t tell on us. Was just as nice as he could be.

A story about this guy back in 1999 or 2000. The student seats at the PMAC were full for a game against UK. Recruits Niswanger and Whitworth were on their official visit. He kicked me and my friend out of our seats to seat them.

Certainly very much a class act. Nader is a true Tiger.
So has he has been at LSU longer than gymnastics coach, D.D. Breaux?

Years ago, probably 2000 or 2001 I went to get some tickets and visit my aunt Cindy who was working in the athletics department, I ran into Sam outside the athletic building and I started a conversation. He was very friendly and I never felt like I was intruding or hindering his day in any way. It was like we were old buddies catching up. The same with Dale Brown who I had a long conversation with at the 2003 Bayou Bash. Generous men.

When you look at the plaques outside Tiger Stadium honoring each SEC Championship team including names of each player and staff member Sam Nader’s name is on each one since the early 1980’s. I would venture to say his nameplate is seen outside Tiger Stadium more than any other coach or player in LSU football history. That’s quite a testament to his impact.

Have known him for 25 years, a great ambassador for the university and the nicest guy you could ever know.
