You probably showed the most class to represent another school to ever come on the rant. I know they have some bad fans....but that comes with every school. Sorry you had to be near certain LSU fans that show no class. If we ever meet during the season at LSU, you should definitely come enjoy the tailgaiting experience. I promise it's a much more friendly environment, as well as fun. I think everyone on TD appreciates your class and we wish the yellow jackets the best of luck next year.

Amen. That was sad behavior and does not represent the Tiger fan base. Neither do the idiotic, personally insulting posts on this and other threads.

Good luck to your team in 2009.

hiveredtech, I agree with everything in your post. But yelling "tigerbait" at anyway is considered just good natured jibbing here. If you were at Tiger Stadium you were that a ton, but people would offer you a beer, or food too.

The other stuff was way out of line, and it is a problem with some of our idiot fans and has discussed on here repeatedly. I can promise that thry are atypical but still way too common. That God they didn't cuss in front on your children too. Another problem caused by excessive alcohol use and lack of common sense.

Anyway, sorry for the bad behavoir and good luck next year

I was at the game last night.

As far as the crappy LSU fans, well ALL teams have em, and I sat next to some great and some crap GT fans.

The guys behind us were poking each other before kickoff talking about the "chant" they were going to use when GT started "kicking their asses". Thankfully I never got to hear whatever incredibly clever chant they had made up.

Then right before halftime the drunkest of the four (and to be named "drunkest" of these guys was quite a feat) started yelling at a LSU fan with a visor on, "hey fa_g_t! Yeah, you, fa_g_t with a visor!" and on and on. There was a Tech woman a few rows down who looked at them and said, "hey man, don't do that", as well as a couple of guys behind them.

They were the very definition of "class".

At the fake punt I was treated to a chorus of "I f___ing hate you Les Miles! You're a motherf___er!" and then they left.

All goes to show that every team has them.

Congrats from another Tech guy. You guys took it to us something good. Hopefully our guys will use this experience as a building block. No one wants to get manhandled on national TV but the one benefit should be to learn a thing or two from it.

The biggest difference to my eyes was the big boys on along both lines. You guys dominated the line of scrimmage on both sides. Dwyer never had a chance and JJ had all day back there. I am still shocked it wasn't 50something to 3. I loved the fake punt and onside kick. It's called football not cheerleading. Miles and your team made all the right moves. You guys probably would have beaten most teams last night.

As for the chop block - yes, it was a chop block. No, we don't teach it just like we don't teach offsides, pass interference, holding, etc. I totally understand your outrage after seeing the replay. I was screaming as well because it cost us 15 yards. Who the heck knows what goes on in the mind of a 19 year old.

I look forward to watching your team next year. They should be pretty darn good and you guys should be pumped. My boys should be pretty good as well. Hopefully, this pummeling will give us a little more grit next year (of course having some olineman would help as well).

Congrats!

..and had two small groups of LSU fans approach us thanking us for being "Tiger bait again this year." Some even bent down to try to slap my kids hands and thank them for being their tackling dummies!
well I had some geeky GT skinny whiteboys yelling 'corndog' at me and I didn't take it personally, just laughed it off and said Geaux Tigers! I don't think you should worry about it too much.

3) Jordan Jefferson is your man...have no idea why it took so long to get him going this year. No blue why Lee would play over him other than experience...which certainly did not show in all the pick-6's he threw.

4) Disappointed in Mile fake punt during the 4th quarter with a 5 TD lead. That does not show a lot of respect for the kids wearing the other jerseys or the other coaches that share your profession. As a former college athlete...collegiate sports are a small fraternity...you have to be respectful at all times.

Good post. But you answered your question before you asked it. We called the fake punt to keep Jefferson on the field longer and get him all the experience we could for him!

12) I do not know how in the world you guys lost to Alabama and UGA. I truly believe that last night you would not have. It appears to me that you are light years faster and stronger than Alabama...and equally as athletic as UGA, but definitely better coached. I think JJ will be your difference maker. I predict LSU and Florida in the SEC Champsionship game next year.

What you saw last night is an LSU team that actually gets solid QB play and a good defensive performance. The latter was probably a bit of smoke and mirrors since GT posed no threat in the passing game.

Also, GT was beaten in every single aspect of that game. Special teams was a very small factor. The fake punt attempt was obviously a deperation call by Paul Johnson. He knew he was outclassed.

Hiver--in a flash--GROW UP! This is SEC football, not Clinton "correctness" and I have never seen such whinning, pissin' and moanin' over a fake punt. You'd better be glad that
GT opted out of the SEC 'cause the way you sound you could not stand the heat of a real conference. You ran your mouths and got whipped like borrowed mules. It will be the same in the morning--take a deep breath and get over yourself. And while your at it, thank the Lord the score was not higher-it easily could have been.
