Are LSU fans more or less confident that we could possibly steal a win vs Bama than we were that we had ANY shot at beating Auburn a few weeks ago?

I personally didn't think we had a snowball's chance in hell of beating AU and after the 1st Q I was convinced we'd get run out of the stadium. I gladly ate crow.

While I think our chances of beating Bama are only about 10-15%, that is still 10-15% more confident than I was going into the Barn game.

So in short, I'm slightly more confident that we could upset Bama than I was that we could beat Auburn.

What says the rant?

Edit: I have also noticed that our fanbase tends to change their tune the last few years during the 2 week stretch before Bama. We either start out confident and then lose confidence as we break down the match up or vice versa. So I will poll us again in a week and see if anything changes.

Less. Although Stidham had played well leading up to the game, we still knew he was somewhat of a question mark.

Bama is a well oiled machine. I’d say our chances to upset Bama are under 5%.

I can definitely agree with that.

I think my change of confidence has more to do with the improvements of our own team rather than the ability of our opponent.

Before Auburn, I thought this team was full of tinman Tigers (no heart). But that Auburn game showed that this team has plenty of heart and when trying to beat an opponent that is better than you at most if not all aspects of the game, heart and gameplanning is all you have to rely on.

I'm not too confident against Bama. We just don't match up well at all against them. If we want any chance against them LSU has to slow Bama's run game down and not let Bama's defense attack downhill all game like they did against Tennessee.

Less.

We had Auburn at home, and they had shown a few weaknesses during the year.

Alabama on the road is another story altogether, even though LSU's resume is better now.

LSU will lose to Bama but win all other games including the bowl game. With the way the season began, this would definitely be overachieving.

So you thought we had a 0% chance of beating Auburn, and now you're letting us know your next prediction?

I guess more. Less than 5% though. I have a little more confidence that Canada could put a game plan together that could cause issues for Bama, but let's be honest Bama is like the T1000 from Terminator 2. Virtually no weaknesses except molten steel.

I also believe that to win we need some breaks to go our way such as a couple of TOs on our side the 50 and/or a big special teams play or 2. Whether it's a special teams TO or a Spexial teams TD, we definitely need to win that 3rd of the game.

Not extremely confident, but have 2 weeks to prepare and continue to get healthy ...

and lots of young players, sometimes a blessing as they have no "I can't" embedded.
so let's geaux Tigers

Yeah I guess you caught me in a bit of a hyperbole. I obviously knew we had somewhat of a chance to beat Auburn but I didn't think it was more than 5%.

I was certain we would beat Auburn, so I am less confident in this one. That said, I think we have a chance to keep it competitive in Tuscaloosa, and maybe even steal a victory, but I am not confident we can outplay them to a convincing win.

What? I absolutely was more confident that we could beat Auburn at home than I am that we beat Alabama on the road.

Just to put it in perspective, the last 2 games in Ttown have been 38-17 and 30-16 with both games being a hard fought 1st half only to be throttled in the 2nd half.

We need to find a way to move the ball offensivley to keep our D fresh for the 2nd half.

Its the match ups... always has been, their lines will obliterate ours... on both sides.. Canada is the key to this game.. They will score 21-28 on our D with their run game.. We cant stop it.. Question is, can Canada run misdirection, short quick passes to TE and RB's out to the flats, a few trick plays to keep us in the game late to give ourselves a chance... that is the question.. it will all come down to offensive play calling..

it would be nice to get turnovers or a SP Team TD or fake FG, sure.. but its likely not to happen.. Bama will always try and stop our run first, I will feel alot better if Canada is smart enough and goes in passing to setup the run. And he cannot be afraid to attack the middle of the field..

personally I think the only way to beat them is come out and hit them square in the mouth as hard as you can..

Prior to the game I didn't think by any means a win over Auburn was out of the question. Sure, when it was 20-0 it didn't look good, but too many gloom and doomers here were salivating all week fantasizing about an Auburn blow out.

I thought we'd beat Auburn, but if I had to bet my last dollar I'd pick Alabama on 11/4. Still I feel MUCH more optimistic than I did prior to the Florida kickoff.

Less than Auburn. I didn’t think lsu would beat auburn but held out hope bc the game was in BR and Gus was on the other sideline.

However a lot more than at the low point of that game down 3 scores.

Yup. We just don't have the talent match with them. And our tackling continues to be terrible.

Only shot we have. That and or Alabama completely playing the worse game of Saban's tenure. Like 5 TO's, our ST's scoring, our defense returning multiple TO's for TD's.
