guess what, if you go to any restaurant at lunch or dinner you're gonna have to wait. it's the same with before games and halftime at ball games. go mid inning and it'll take you less than 3 min.
Are you actually comparing fixing a HOT DOG to ordering food at a restaurant?? WTF DUDE and you have the nerve to say "you're a dumb arse" to anyone?
My fiance left to get hot chocolate in the 3rd inning Friday night and didnt get back until almost the 7th inning. HOW THE frick is that 3 minutes? Is there some magic wand that makes the line disappear if you leave at the end of an inning and makes it reappear after the inning starts?
Is there a separate line you go to that is for the "just left in the middle of the inning only crowd"
If people are complaining about spending multiple innings in line how in your mind do you figure you can get in and out of line in 3 mintutes if you leave mid-inning? Does that really make sense to you?

Yeah missing a key play because some kid can't figure out how to count.
The dumbing down of America! What do you expect from kids who go to school and never learn to compute with pencil and paper or make calculations mentally? How many of you are parents and are failing to make certain that YOUR kids are learning to do these mental gymnastics instead of relying on calculators?
In the end, the only people to blame for such crap is us. I've said for years calculators, computers, etc. should NEVER be allowed in schools other than to teach kids how to use them as a tool and I just get ridiculed, which I probably will be here. Sometimes I wonder how mankind managed to bridge the gap between the invention of the wheel and the computer.
A mind is a terrible thing to waste! Technology and progress is not always friendly or good.

I would agree but the fact is that the 12 year olds behind the counter is your best bet to get in and out faster as they tend to do the math in their head instead of using the calculator. Its the 40+ year old women that are using the calculator and taking too much time.

Seeing as how I'm 61 and that 40 yr. old is the one with the problem and would be right in the age group where calculators were first introduced and became the substitute for pencil and paper, and the 12 yr. old is doing it in their head, then maybe our school admins learned and changed things.
One can only hope.
I used to sell hot dogs and cokes out in the North End Zone in Tiger Stadium back in the early '60's. Then I got a hamburger/hotdog/peanut/coke stand in the upper NE corner which I ran until the mid '70's and got a popcorn stand in the upper SW End Zone.
Out in the stadium, I carried a big aluminum box with a sterno can in it and 2 dozen hotdogs. From top to bottom and side to side. They were .25 and came with a little mustard pack. I also used to sell the only hot peanuts in the stadium as I'd pack in a dozen bags of peanuts in the box. Those were .50. Cokes were sold for years right out of the bottle, carried in a bucket and poured into a paper cup.
In the stand hamburgers were .60 and cokes dispensed out of a machine like today and were .50. A box of popcorn was .75. We popped it fresh. Later peanuts went to .75.
That's how I used to get into the games. I didn't make a lot of money (we got 10% commission) but I sure garnered some great memories!
Nowadays I think they let different groups like churches, etc. run the things for fund-raising. Plus I don't think they don't allow concessions to be sold in the stands anymore which I think is wrong. That was a great way for youngsters to make some money.
All the kids who wanted to work would gather on the East Side of the stadium just North of the visitors gate and sign up to work out of a wholesale stand.
Sorry if I rambled. Thanks for letting me reminisce about my long lost youth.

The idiots use calculators to subtract 4.30 from 10. If this speeds up service then by all means but just shows how stupid.

for every one inept concession stand worker there are ten fans in line that get to the counter and go "uhhhhhh" because they don't know what they want. or they ask the inept concession stand worker "how much is a ___________?" when the prices are right there on the display. Inept volunteer concession stand workers I can deal with, all I have to do is avoid their counter. Idiot fans that stand in line and are oblivious when it is their turn to order are unavoidable.

Alot of these people are groups, but also it is a mixture of just random people. Working in the concessions pays 10 bucks an hour and LSU uses an outside company to get people for days when they dont have groups set up.

Concessions in Tiger Stadium are 10 X better than the swamp. You guys expect too much.

I know employees who spend forever running computer program where the entire focus is getting the damn thing to converge. Once it does, they don't have a clue if the solution makes any sense. The older guys can estimate the solution on a single sheet of paper.

That is one of the funniest posts I have ever read. Great job!

Are the mexicans still working the RF concessions? They were there last year.
No matter what you order...you will always just get handed nachos.

If you think that is bad,
Try going to a Texas Tech baseball game and eat at the concession.
Your choices,
Nachos
Nachos W/Chili (AKA Super Nachos) = $4.00-$4.50
Popcorn = $3.00-$4.50
Hot Dog = $3.50
Soft Drink = $4.00,$4.50,$5.00 (Last 2 Come with a souvenir cup)
Candy
Coffee
Then there is also the Dipin Dots when you want to change it up.
That is it! I would gladly stand in line for 20 minutes for Anything else.
BTW you also have 20-30 MPH wind blowing in your face all game. And none of the seats at all are covered.
