He has a long stride. Nobody is catching him from behind in those videos.

4.42 isn't slow buddy...especially for that size! Just a FYI Guice ran a 4.49 and Fournette a 4.51 at the NFL combine..Hell be just fine

Also, to be honest I'd rather have a guy with decent speed and extreme quickness and acceleration vs ok acceleration and great top end speed. Guice was an awesome example. The Honeybadger was too. Hit the hole before it closes, cut and get back up to speed quickly.

I like the Al Woods versus Kyle Williams ratings as another example.

I have already addressed that buddy

Guice was clocked at a 4.35 in high school, yet when it was time for him to do it officially a few years later with accurate timing, he somehow slowed down almost 2 tenths...(he ran a 4.49 and a 4.60 at the combine)

Fournette was clocked at a 4.35 coming out of high school

I don’t believe any of those high school 40 times.

I think it is his stride that makes him look slower than what he probably is.

This was a laser timed 40 from the Opening up in Oregon this past summer. It’s legit man

Now, he may have bulked up a bit and lost a step, which I’d still bet he’s in the 4.5 range, which is plenty fast. The 4.42 time they’re listing is legit though, not some hand timed BS from a camp like the 4.35 Guice time everyone’s referring to

That doesn't mean he can't have much more production.

Lf led the sec in all purpose yards as a true freshman.
Set every freshman rushing record at lsu.

Then as a sophomore was the 1st sec rb to lead the nation in rushing since 1925.
Had the 2nd best rushing yards per game number in sec history.
Set every lsu single season rushing record

If Emery is MUCH MORE PRODUCTIVE then he will break sec rushing records.

Yea and that's what I meant. It wasn't to knock LF but just to say that if he starts as a freshman, Emery could have more production or similar production if he stays healthy. Before either's first game they both have/had that much potential

The attention Fournette received was insane. I can't remember anything before or after that had so much attention around one player, Ryan Perrilloux was up there. The push was mainly due to the choice between LSU/Alabama and he waited until the All-American Game. I think the year after most of us needed a break and Guice's recruitment wasn't as big since we had our guy. Emery is in the middle. But I'm pumped to get him.

Which means that his real time is significantly slower. HS 40 times are garbage across the board.

How are his knees / hamstrings and will he play through a little Knick ?
I hope he’s as tough as he is talented

Emery is no Zamir White or James Cook, which is why he dropped UGA, and those two “5 Stars” can’t see the field.

I'm in the middle being closer to Guice than Fornette. Emery is a huge get in a spot of need but don't elevate expectations to unreachable levels. There will be serious competition there. Great for LSU.

I think the point is no one believes the 4.42 because he doesn't look as fast as Guice or Fournette

Zamir White had a season ending injury before the season

I think yall are absolutely out of your minds if you think Emery looks a little slow. You can watch his highlights (and they're against great competition to btw, these aren't scrubs) and there isn't anyone catching him from behind, and he's even outrunning guys who have the angle on him. The kid can move.

But take that for what it is, he is saying as a prospect Emory at this time is just a notch below Fournette. That doesn't mean he can't have much more production. There are a lot of factors on production so he has the potential to be the best back we've seen if he stays healthy and has an experienced and talented offensive coordinator.

I would give him the edge over Guice, but no where near Fournette level. That dude was the best back in LSU history by a bunch.
