I really wish the best for Lee, whether he stays or goes...He's taken a lot of crap, and has handled it very well for his age..He had a rough season, but I remember Colt McCoy having a really tough time a couple years back too.

NO matter what JL does the LSU NATION will support him. I'm glad that a young man of such High character would choose LSU.We should avoid atheletes of great ability and questionable character because you will always be dissappointed in the end.( RP & Cecil Collins )We have two atheletes with great ability and character in the present recruiting class in Michael Ford & Russell Sheppard. No baggage with either one. First class.GREAT PARENTS!

JL got almost a full season of experience and still looked bad. Also he had a year last year to learn the offense. Even if JJ gets hurt next year we will be better off putting in another QB than JL.

Yeah, doesn't this put us in sorta in the same messed up situation we were in this year? Lee can surely do what he wants, but I'd feel more confident knowing we had some experienced backup in case of an injury to our starting QB (who has only 2 games of starting experience himself). If Lee leaves and JJ gets injured ... well, I guess we'll find out if RS is the next Terrell Pryor or Pat White right away.

I've heard that his father talked about such a thing. It's highly unlikely he'll get significant playing time from here on out at LSU with JJ and RS around, and the kid does have real potential that he can develop only with playing time.

Gotta wonder which is better for the Lee's development.

Competing on a daily basis against quality athletes at LSU or playing games against the caliber of athletes McNeese plays?

There is talk that Jarrett Lee will be transferring to a 1-AA school, most likely SFA or McNeese.

DD is not reporting that Lee is transfering, only that there is "talk." In other words, your guess is as good as his.

I really do hope things work out for Jarrett. We met him the day after the Miss. State game at IHOP in BR and he and his family seemed like good people. They were very excited about him being at LSU and having the opportunity to start. He's a good kid and I wish him the very best in his future endeavours.

Yeah, I have to say I have mixed feelings about this one. But the kid has to do what's best for him.

I have been a JL's fan since he committed to LSU. I think he can't play under pressure, especially a place like LSU. I wish him the bests, and wherever he goes, I'll follow his career.

Thanks for the best comeback memories.

Hatch can also run the same offense that JJ and RS can run since Hatch can run the ball. You guys are all concerned that if JJ gets injured we wont have a backup. These are the same people who were freaking out while JL was in. Miles has proven time and time again, he knows what he is doing and if he messes up, he rectifies it. Let it be and let everything work out the way it is supposed to.

Absolutely. The Troy game convinced me he can take a lot of shite, shake it off and make things right. I don't know him, but I'd actually be sorta surprised if he moved on—he just seems like someone who isn't fazed by adversity, and truly believes he can come back and compete for a starting job with the team. We'll see. Either way, best of luck to him, seems like a good kid from a good family.

do you not understand that experience is a factor in determining who the "best man" is?

Yeah, I really feel strongly that if Lee had had another couple of years on the bench and began starting as say a JR. he would have been a really good QB. I wish the best for him.......one of the few players that went to LSU that I feel the fanbase let down.

Only ignorant fans would want JL to transfer.

So the kid threw a bunch of "pick 6's" as a first time starter. Does that mean he's destined to do the same if given another opportunity? Hell No it doesn't.

I personally hope he sticks around. Now that he's got some experience under his belt. Let him and JJ and the rest of the QB's battle it out, with the best man winning the starting position. The kid just may suprise some people and end up being the best of the bunch.
Or he may suck. But, it's better to find out with a true open competition.

It's obvious that Jefferson is the "man" coming into 2009 but with the crowton offense it is likely Jefferson is gonna get banged up. We are more than likely gonna need Lee in 2009.

Dandy Don sounds like he is repeating New Years Eve party conversations with fellow drunk fans on the prospects of Lee transfering. I'm thinking Lee is gonna stay at LSU, work with Jefferson and the incoming freshmen and await his opportunity to prove himself that he can lead this LSU football team.

I am personally against it. If JJ gets hurt in the spring, we will be in the same position as last year.

The correct answer. JL could play an important role next year given a JJ injury. I would hate to see him leave.

Hatch should never take another rep from a viable qb in practice much less a game. The problem this year was they blew it by wasting development on a guy who can't play SEC football all spring and the first several games. It would have been curious to see Jefferson/Lee sharing the reps early on. Qb performance for the season may have been much different
