Just wondering but was the Alabama game last year an early start? I was there but can't remember when kickoff was. I just remember it being dark the 2nd half.

I can agree with everything but simplify the playbook. I think it has been boring and too predictable thus far.

The limitations of JJ and Shep have warranted a simplification of the gameplan.

yes, it started before 5pm, for sure...not sure if it was 2:30 or 4:30 CT kickoff...

This:
quote:

The strength of the option rests in its ability to force a defender to choose, to commit. If you pitch the ball too soon, you eliminate the key to the option. You do the same if you have the wrong spatial relationship between quarterback and running back.

The NCAA definition of a night game is one that kicks off at 6 p.m. or later local time. If they went by whether it is dark before it ends, you'd have a lot of arguments about Standard Time and Daylight Saving Time, for one thing. Also, I've seen afternoon games end after sunset because of overtime periods. That's not a night game.

We may be in trouble then, unless Miles allows Crowton to unleash.

Great article. I think many people don't understand what you mean by simplifing the playbook. I think I do but please elaborate. I don't think that will make us more predictable if done correctly.

Yep, yep, yep, yep, and yep. Hopefully, the coaching staff will take note. Especially with simplifying the offense and just focusing on being able to execute a few plays extremely well. I'm of the belief that you can have a world class offense with only about 30 to 40 different plays in your playbook; and, the more talent you have the fewer plays you need.

Another great post Carl.

Thinking man's game is dead on.

When the team feels a strategy is working, the intensity ramps up bigtime.

Again, and I am not privy to the daily workouts, but I would like to see J Lee get some snaps, at least one or two series', to mix it up, give JJ a rest, confuse the opponent.
