BDS is one of the cleanest, nicest looking stadiums in the country. LSU's is louder but i just don't see how you can knock BDS for it's appearance.

Tuscaloosa and College Station is miles better than Baton Rouge.

Agree. But keep the context in mind.

No doubt, the context is why I still live here.

How can anyone be happy in Tuscaloosa? I'm not trying to be a douche. I've just always wondered that. Both of my parents graduated from Alabama, I was born and raised in Tuscaloosa, and all of my family is from there. My parents couldn't wait to get out. We eventually left and moved out of state. Just curious what the big secret is. Because I've never found anything to be that nice in Tuscaloosa.

I've lived in Baton Rouge, Pensacola, Mountain Brook/Bham Alabama, and Pensacola. I liked Mountain Brook the most but i'm fine in Tuscaloosa. TBH i rarely even leave campus, attractive girls, alcohol, and internet is all i need.

Baton Rouge is not a college town. It's a town/Suburb like area with a major university and some college aspects. I like it because you can do things other than just the college scene.

Fair enough. Everyone has their own likes and dislikes.

Many, many colleges towns better than BR (College Station isn't one of them, though). My list of favorites starts with Seattle (UW). I love that place. In the South, Nashville ranks pretty damn high. I liked my time in BR and still have a lot of family there but it's a regional thing. If you are part of the culture, it is pretty good. Outsiders, though, won't find a ton to like.

baton rouge is too big to be a college town as well..so is austin. athens & blacksburg qualify .. places where the college is economically dominant part of the town..br does not qualify... comparing baton rouge to tuscaloosa is a failure ..birmingham to br is more relavent

I have lived in
Miami
BR
Dallas
Columbia, SC
Tuscaloosa, AL
Hattiesburg, MS
Knoxville, TN
Lafayette, LA

While I love LSU and BR is very special to me...
to an outsider, Columbia, SC and Knoxville, TN are awesome towns....and Lafayette has to also be towards the top...if not at the top

I am judging them as someone who went there not knowing anyone....if you grow up in any college town..YOUR CONTACTS/FRIENDS will make that town awesome, but as an outsider...it is different.

I've lived both places and except for all the Bama fans enjoyed life in T-town more.

Baton Rouge can be a very stuffy town. With the state capitol there, it attracts an arrogant class of politicians and bureaucrats. These are not fun or warm people to be around. I like LSU just fine, but it is highly political, too, because a main source of funding is from the Legislature. New Orleans gets my vote for best college town. I've never been to Boulder, but have only heard good things. Of course, these things are very subjective.

Athens is nicer for sure. I actually really liked Oxford. If Oxford develops a little bit more it has some real potential.

Bama's campus is meh...its a dime a dozen in the South, nothing special. I got into Bama, got a scholarship there, had several friends going there, my mom is a Bama alum, its close to home etc....but I hated Tuscaloosa and was not that impressed with the campus like I was LSU.

NOLA isn't a college town. It's a city with colleges in it.

LSU and the campus area a great, no doubt.

But I have been to Cal Berkeley, Athens, State College (Penn State)...those places are way better.

But it sorta depends on what you like. San Fran State, and all the colleges in NYC have a lot to offer in terms of cool town credit. European Universities (I have attended two) can really boast cool town credit. Check out the schools in Berlin (FU and TU) and the University of Siena (Italy) or University of Bolognia, or perhaps the best, the Universities in Paris.

UC Santa Cruz may be the most beautiful campus in the world.
