you win with scoring runs.

LSU has outscored its opponents in innings 1 through 5 by 36 to 10. And in innings 1 through 3 LSU has outscored its opponents 26 to 7.

How many more runs would it take in those innings for you to say we score enough early runs???

Batting average does not = run production

Did I say BA or did I say BA with RISP?

I would say BA with RISP is a pretty good way to measure run production efficiency. But then again, you have already told me once in this thread that I don't follow baseball so I'm sure you will have something to come back with.

This is where I laugh. BYU actually had a couple of VERY good starters and Maryland had pretty good Friday and Saturday night guys. What do you know about the pitching that Kentucky has faced this season? I would love for you to give me a comparison of the repertoire of the starting pitchers that we have faced vs the ones Kentucky has faced this season.

How many times have we given up 10 runs this season?
not talking about pitching. you should notice that i have not made one remark about pitching this season

focus

quote:

The big and powerful wildcats had to muster a 4 run rally in the 8th inning to escape with an 11-10 win against them
which also means that they plated 7 runs in the first 7 innings....good offensive production

know how many times we have scored 7 runs in the first 7 innings of a game in our 11 games? SLU and ULL

pretty meaninglesss stat, but i suppose you talking pitching in a hitting discussion is about the same.

I would say batting average is the most important stat in baseball

Very wrong.

On base percentage is much more important. Plus, there are other factors than just racking up a pretty batting average.

Alex Rodriguez is a beast when it comes to a 162 game season batting average, home runs, and RBI numbers. Of course, he racks up many of his stats in games that are already decided (6-1 lead in the 7th inning), or when his team is way behind (7-2 defecit in the 8th inning). Ask the Yankee fans if they want him up to bat in the playoffs with the game on the line.

I could very easily see this team leading the conference in runs scored in SEC-only games this year. (EDIT: And this will be in spite of Mainieri's offensive style, which is generally terrible at producing runs relative to the number of times his players gets on base.)

Careful. You are very close to being labeled a Nega-BaseballTiger

No, Doc is sensible. You and Rouge are absolute negatigers who complain about everything. If LSU was scoring 12 runs a game and giving up 4 a game you'd find a way to complain.

I would love to see how you calculated this analysis.

Did you only start following it this week?

Because you haven't made one valid argument or comment back to ANYTHING that has been directed at you.

This is why I stopped posting in this thread. They are no better than some of the Arkansas posters in the SEC rant.

They are awful, come storming in a baseball thread when the situation isn't ideal only to slight the team or complain. Where are these guys when we're winning on the road @ ULL 11-0?

These guys don't even have a single valid argument/debate. Nothing. They just come and spew about how our offense is bad. They must join in a lot of the football discussions as well. There is so much more to baseball than scoring 10 runs a game and that is the only thing these 2 can focus on.

No where because they think that is expected. We SHOULD beat them by 10+ runs because they are so inferior and have such terrible pitching
