It's BASEBALL, you are going to have some low scoring games against bad pitching and some high scoring games against good pitching. It goes both ways.

The Southeastern LA starter we played last week and chased after getting 7 hits and 5 runs on in 1.1 innings just threw a no hitter this last weekend.

That has nothing to do with my point. My point was about batting average not being the most important stat.

Well in all reality you had no point because your comment was that A Rod is a beast over 162 games in terms of batting average and you are wrong. He has been hitting in the .270 range for the last few years. I wouldn't call that beast mode.

You're right, but acting like we don't stand a chance against them is an exercise in futility at this point.

If y'all want my honest opinion, I'm thrilled to death about our hitting. We can hit from top to bottom. Unlike last year, where we had some automatic outs in the lineup. See Arby Fields after halfway through SEC play.

and nobody is saying that here

i am simply stating that if the hitting does not improve, we are going to have even more difficulty scoring runs. what i do know is that the pitching and pitching depth will be a whole lot better once we reach conference play

He also isn't factoring in how their hitters will do when they face 7-8 pitchers that consistently throw in the low to mid 90's. Probably one of the best 5 or so Friday/Saturday combos in the country in terms of stuff. A damn good LH Sunday starter that can get it up there in the 90s. Nope, its all about how LSU won't fare well against everyone else in the SEC.

This is the most logical comment I have seen in this thread so far. Top to bottom the depth and quality in this lineup is LIGHT YEARS ahead of the last couple of lineups LSU has run out there. They also have some quality on the bench.

Sounds like everyone is arguing for the sake of arguing then.

Once again, I posted how BEAST he was from 1996-2009. He had slam dunk Hall of Fame type numbers from that time frame, yet he couldn't get in done in the post season (he finally broke through once with the Yankees).

Funny how you change that now since that isn't what you said before.

But if you would like to argue it that way, why don't you take a look at his postseason numbers during the same stretch of time - like when he hit .320 in 2004 in the post season or .371 in 2000 or .365 in 2009. Who would you have wanted up at the plate during those years?

Neither one of the guys on the other end of this discussion have the slightest clue about the talent level of a single one of the pitchers we have faced all season long. We provided stats that prove the pitcher was talented and they are ignored.
