From a pitching standpoint this is way better pen than their ‘16 NC team.

College baseball is a lot better all-around than it was in 16

Its just difficult to imagine in the NIL/Free Agent era that a school like Coastal has kept up with the bluebloods.

They're doing something right.

But they are due for a few losses.

Literally no more than two…tops.

Could be 3 losses if they get to the championship series

Unlimited transfer portal and NIL has reshaped this game more than football IMO because of the limited roster spots and the MLB draft shortening ie older players just wanting to spend time continuing to play before life happens. Don’t blame them.

You listed several very good reasons for my statement. Kids are also seeing that playing in front of SEC/ACC crowds is lot more fun than playing in front of a dead crowd in the minors

Or the empty stadiums in the majors.

Shoulda been a top 8 seed over Oregon state. Playing in a conference should matter

OSU won their regional and is taking a very good FSU team to the wire. Let’s not act like they suck.

Most of them are making millions by that time and MLB still averages a lot more fans per game than any SEC team

Not Jay Johnson’s Arizona?

Not that series and how close it was. Leaving the winning run on base was heart breaking with the tying run on third

They haven’t been to a super since 2016, so let’s not pretend they’ve been “keeping up.” Maybe as well as they can, but they will be an every 5-10 years program, at best.

USM has also been better than Coastal from 2016 until now, hosting 2 supers.

League-wide maybe, but that’s absolutely not the case everywhere. The bottom 10-15 teams average a few thousand per game and are almost empty for day games.

Those owners are terrible for the sport. They are like Mizzou, don't even try to be good. Lets just profit from the big boys success

In the present day, every 5-10 years for a smaller program like that means they are recruiting real talent.

They have a solid program.

It would be somewhat understandable if it were the same head coach and coaching staff, but it’s not.

Very impressive.
