It was either last week or the week before. He was asked something about NIL, and his answer made it seem like LSU was behind in it. He made the comment that there are other places willing to spend big money and we weren’t on par with some of them. Did anyone else catch that?

Would be news to me. All I’ve heard is how LSUs NIL collective is rolling in baseball and they get guys they want

They’ve pretty much cherry picked who they wanted and they get them outside of Braden Montgomery. I don’t believe that one bit

That comment pissed me off. He brought that into the conversation without it really being asked. I know for a FACT LSU is not behind in NLI. Across other collectives, we’re known to be the highest spender in baseball.

You mean our high end community and Fortune 500 laden state are behind on monetary resources??? Amazing. Why shouldn’t Louisiana be competing at the highest level in NIL with every other team in the country? We should be dammit… Oh wait.

I don’t think NIL is the reason this year either, but I see people calling for a major roster overhaul.A comment like that makes me question how possible getting multiple portal stars is.

If LSU weren’t defending national champs, that alibi might ring a little less hollow.
As it is, it sounds like a weak excuse why his team is tanking this year.

I’ve been a harsh critic of Paul over the years, but when his 2010 team took a dump after winning the 2009 CWS, he at least manned up and owned it.
I’ll wait to see how things play out and reserve judgement on Jay until this season’s over.
