Better of the two QBs in the 2017 class and will end up being the best amongst the bunch currently on the roster.

Clicked on the link. Where did it say that he had the strongest arm on the team? Didn't see the Deshaun Watson comparison? Is there another linj?

Lol I know, in one offseason we've gone from having QB troubles to having 3 all pro type QBs on the roster. You have Scott who's basically a cross between Drew Brees and Michael Vick. There's Justin McMillan, I mean the next Steve Young even though he runs an offensive linemans 40 time and can't throw the ball 50 yards. Now we have Deshaun Watson too! We need to invent a new formation where we can have all these guys on the field and start running the Little Giants offense. Print the shirts!!!

Well, that's just your opinion, which doesn't hold any weight anywhere.

The best qb from the state is at Miss St., Thompson is a beast, we missed out on him.

He is Better than Lowell, no question, I think Miles Brennan will beat Lowell out in the end.

Strongest arm on the team - Hearing a lot of comparisons are being made to Deshaun Watson. Not even 100% yet - he is going to be the real deal

If he's so good, then why did he get two pass attempts in the scrimmage? If no quarterback ahead of him has really established himself as the starter and the competition is still open, then why isn't he getting looked at closer. I think this is just coach speak and we can't look too much into it. Next year when he gets significant snaps in the spring games, then I may buy it. Till, then, I'm keeping my credit cards put away nice and tight.

I'm just concerned for him and his health, kid had two major leg injuries and he relies heavily on his feet.
Can't win the SEC West if you're a QB that "Relies heavily on your Feet." No way, TWO surgically repaired knees hold up at this level of play. Eventually, one of the knees is going to give out or he's going to take a hit and it'll be over. That's just the harsh reality of the situation.

BTW, how's his Passing Accuracy under pressure? (AND Scott's AND McMillan's) We don't know yet because there's no evidence to go on at all;......

Have you never seen his highlights? In HS, he was under pressure and running for his life on literally every play. If there's one thing he can do, it's throwing on the run. When he actually has time to throw, his accuracy is excellent. Biggest challenge for him will be to go through his progressions and take his time because in HS he always had to get rid of the ball very quickly.

Do you realize how many NFL QBs have had one or more ACL tears? And what about Tyrann Matthieu? This isn't the 80s.

I saw him win a state championship in the superdome. He's an athletic machine.

But... He's gonna make the wrong choice. He is gonna not take the red shirt. He's gonna try to get playing time early. He's gonna miss the opportunity to develop from an athlete into a legitimate qb.

A red shirt, some solid fundamentals, and a good bit of patience could bring his talent to the next level, but I doubt it happens. Everyone wants to the LeBron James straight out of high school superstar

It must be awesome to be a backup QB.

You are a damn rockstar until it's time to play.

Even rockstars want to be backup QBs - not even a rockstar gets the respect of a backup QB that has only played a few snaps or none at all.

By them saying he's the most talented they mean he has the most potential. He should still be in high school, you can't expect him to be leading the QB battle right now.

That's why he needs to RS. Another year of learning the mental side of being qb and the offense will be great. Plus he will really have the time to endure the knees are fine. A minor issue can change on one play. Wouldn't hurt to wait another year. He would come back and set records at Lsu.

If you're talking about the accurate pain at the time of the injury, sure, breaking a bone is worse (hurts more). In the long-term and rehabbing, you clearly have no fricking idea what you're talking about.

ACL repair has come a very, very long way, but you're never the same after you tear ligaments.

Wow, we have some wild fans. So your reason to justify Lowell not starting and to protect DE's starting spot is the bring up passing stats?

Well let's see here.

DE
LSU 2016 - 59.5
PUR 2014 - 54.9
PUR 2013 - 55.8

Now for HS:

DE

2012 - 51.6
2011 - 53.8

Like I said before, DE hit his ceiling long ago and we will most likely need more than what he has shown to be able to do.

Unless a miracle happens, we'll be yelling at the screen for him to slide, use his feet to pick up a first down, not throw late in traffic, not overthrow and under-throw passes, and to not the throw the ball away every single time he see's someone looking at him.
