The AP poll is full of crap like this...
The AP should strip people like that of their vote. The coaches poll has its own issues. Most of the coaches don't do the actual voting. They are too busy to watch games that don't affect them. Spurrier always gave Duke a preseason vote.

The beauty is most of those top teams still have to play each other and ruin records. Many of them had very backloaded schedules with all cupcakes the first few weeks.
