They are also more sincere. They are less concerned about what an agent or sponsor thinks. Many pro players simply want to think they are shaping the country, and they are bigger than sports, similar to other celebrities.

I’m not a fan of the president but, I’m glad it went well and there were no boycotts or whatever. I’m sure there are players that don’t like Trump but maybe had enough respect for coach O to stand down or just understood it wasn’t the time to make a spectacle. Kudos.
