Saban did the same thing in his first year. Many coaches run off or have players leave for various reasons in their first year.

I don't disagree but let's please get rid of this narrative that the cupboard was left bare. If you run players off then no one wants to hear lack of depth as an excuse.

One of the greatest tells that someone has no ability to assess the previous staff's worth is if they attempt to hang that TENN loss around his neck THIS LONG after the fact. Knowing what we know now (frick, knowing what we knew then with even a tiny bit of perspective) and just how devastated that team was by that week the issue wasn't losing the big lead, it was managing to be up at all given what they had all gone through. Being mad at the time, given how much it felt we all NEEDED that win was one thing, but to still be angry about it in 2017 is fricking insane.

this is utter bullshite. we fired miles to get better. the new coach doesnt get a pass because he sounds like us.
whether its miles or O, lsu has 52 4 and 5 star players while troy cant get classes in the top 95.
just another example of lsu fans being ok with lsu looking like shite against vastly inferior teams as long as its a coach you like

I’m not angry about it. I was asked a question. It was a bad loss anyway you look at it. Up 20 against a bad team at home is a bad loss. Maybe he shouldn’t have asked to compare seasons that can’t be compared. We had tons of injuries and attrition this year in the miss st game and Troy game but that isn’t allowed as an excuse.

People only say ridiculous things like this because they know O never will win a championship, so it's unable to be disproven.

the laughable part in this is Peej used to do nothing but crap on miles and say how 3 loss seasons werent good.

Let's put it this way... if O's job was on the line against ND... win he keeps his job or lose and he's out....
You would put on your ND jersey and root like crazy for. A Notre Dame victory.....fact..... you dislike O..... plain and simple and think Miles Never made a mistake while he coached here.....

Bama's only loss is to a ten win team that won their division and played for a conference championship. They didn't lose to an 8-4 division foe and a SBC team.
I personally don't think it's fair that Bama got into the championship playoff, but it is what it is.

He won title with a 2 loss team in a bizarre finish to a crazy season. The only legit NC team he had he blew it by not giving the team the best chance to win. He could not recruit a qb to save his life nor develop one with potential. I'll bet Saban wins 3 titles at least with the talent that has been through BR the past 12 years.
Give coach O some time he comes out and loses to a Troy type team next season then yeah he deserves every bit of criticism he can have to hear or look at. Like it or not it's what we got so you better hope he can right the ship.
