Exactly. And in real life, you don't bull shite the big money guys. If Miles had told them, "frick off, I'll run shite my way". he'd have had a better shot of keeping his job.

Real life 101

This. Did the offense contribute to those losses? Of course, but win those and Miles doesn't get fired. If he had changed the offense and lossed those games he still would probably have been fired.

I'm pretty sure the Wisconsin game sealed his fate. Had we won at Auburn, it's just a matter of time until the next loss, and the firing

So, you're saying that he would have been fired for losing and that's what I'm saying as well. If they come out in the triple option and won he wouldn't have been fired.

If if if. The reality is they weren’t 4-0 with that offense, and likely would’ve lost more in 2016 with that offense.

I'm pretty sure a second loss was just an opportunity, for optics. He was a dead man walking after Wisconsin.

After going 0-3, and promising changes, not changing and losing out of the blocks, he was done.

I don't disagree one bit. I was never a fan of his and wanted him gone way before he was fired.

...and how do you classify the first four teams?

Wisconsin edged Western Michigan in its bowl game that year. Auburn was 8-5.

People need to go back and LOOK at Les’s Record

11-2
11-2
12-2
8-5
9-4
11-2
13-1
10-3
10-3
8-5
9-3 (essential 10-3)

2014 was the first tim he went 3 years without 11 wins.

And MOST of that time we had a fricking terrible passing game.

But we overlooked it because he wasn’t just winning he was winning a lot.

Almost like a winning is the most important thing, and once less started winning 10 games, that passing offense seems to matter a whole lot more.

I didn't want him fired in 2015. Despite the three straight losses.

Recruiting is the most important thing in college football and I think Les kept enough talent to contend If he could develop a QB.

Very much true. Les’ real Achilles heel was QB recruiting.

I know Sammy. I've already admitted that it's a fault on my part because I didn't like the way he coached and I don't think I ever got over the Tennessee game in '05 when he tried to call a time out after an interception. I do appreciate what he did for LSU and think he's good for CFB. I don't really want to say more than that out of respect for what he accomplished for my favorite team. I'm not gonna tear the man down.

Yep.

The most important element I want in a coach is recruiting. Talent wins 70% of games

Staff is aclose seconds

I was reluctant to want Les gone because he was an elite recruiter. But QB was his achilles

I think les’ passing issues were multi faceted

QB recruiting: a lot of our QBs were good.
QB development: not a lot of improvement
Offensive System: we asked too much of our QBs as far as reads and progrsssion pre and post snap. There are a lot of QBs out there throwing the ball effecrovely because modern offense make take most of those calls away from them

100% with you. Canada couldn’t recruit a QB either. The last year has been way better than the last decade in QB recruiting.

Looks to me the 0-3 run started it, and Miles was told offensive changes were necessary

What does "changes" mean? People fill in the blanks with what they want to believe but no one knows. How do we know that changes weren't made? How would that be quantified?

In any event, Les wasn't retained because he agreed to make changes. The Jimbo hiring fell through and Alleva caved to public pressure. Alleva struck again next season at the first possible opportunity.

If we'd come out Air Raid and lost that Auburn game he would've still been fired.

We beat Miss State ACE

Auburn went to a sugar bowl. They weren’t great but they were the 4th best team on our schedule and had a top 10 scoring defense.

They lost 5 games and 3 of them were to teams that finished in the top3

Recruiting a top QB is highly important. But if your HC is not committed to developing the passing offense, then that QB won't do you much good. Kinda like Tom Brady at Michigan, for example. Michigan had one of the best QB's on the history of the game, but had a passing scheme that wouldn't cut it in a JUCO league.
