Love you brother but this reflects just as bad on O as Cananda.

That worries me. O is a great dline coach. I dont understand our dline isnt a strength under him.

I don't know how much he's relinquished to Meatball due to HC responsibilities, but I did expect a little more from our DL and have not been impressed with Meatball.

If the dline steps up losing white will be felt but not nearly as much if our dline doesnt stop olinemen from reaching the lbs free and clear. White was a physical beast and could power his way through the oline's blocks laterally. Im not sure Divinity and phillips are able to withstand the oline on them like white but i could be wrong. I was very happy with both of their play last year.

I would imagine Queen or Baskerville take White's spot and Divinity slides over to FOLB with Chaisson at Buck. Queen did well vs Bama and Baskerville did OK vs UF but over ran a few plays.

We were about to, and should have.

I agree...because in not doing so, we effectively screwed up 16 and cost ourselves the opportunity to get someone else.
And I'm still not convinced Jumbo would have been successful here.....just like I still think TAM will regret that $75 million deal they made with him.

But that doesn't fit your OPINION that this was a rebuild so you label it as twisting facts

No the facts are that 4 down linemen took 100 percent of the snaps vs state. Also another fact that half the offensive line were either processed or quit when O took over. Those are facts that you intentionally ignore. Its not just you, I know that you know these things. Do you ignore these things for argument or do you think that they're not a factor? I just don't know how anyone could say moving forward that these haven't been major obstacles to overcome. 2018 LSU didn't even have offensive tackles. It can be said that LSU won 10 games without suitable offensive tackles.

Yes it sure as shite does and it made O look indecisive. But to his credit, he fished instead of cutting bait. Of course his next choice was worse IMO.

Despicable???

Yeah this guy has no horse in the race

Oh and the “he needs time” narrative is bullshite.

I’ve posted this repeatedly, but no coach this century has won the SEC without at least winning their division and making it to Atlanta by year 2.

History makes it very clear, if coaches in the SEC don’t win big right away, they never do.

That’s why this year is so critical.

If we don’t win the West or go 11-1 with only a loss to Alabama, we sure aren’t winning it in 2020.

That means 2021 before we have even a possibility of another shot to do it. That’s year FIVE (and a half, seven years since he has been on staff).

That’s over two years longer than any other conference winning coach would have taken to win at least their own division.

I’ll leave it to the ben and Roger to argue for O being the trailblazer to break that streak.

I'm sure it does. Also Alleva shares some of the blame.

Well, you seem to be off the wagon of rational thought, so that's not surprising. He would have killed it here.

The only horse I have in the race is being fair minded.

If you think LSU was ready in 2018 to compete for a national championship no matter who the coach was you are delusional as hell.

It easy for you to make this statement considering there is absolutely no way to prove it.

He just beat us with a team that didn't beat us in over a decade. how's that for proof?

Thats not true. I can post the defensive stats and who played.
quote:

Also another fact that half the offensive line were either processed or quit when O took over

There are dozens of teams that would kill for the oline talent o had in 2017 that field better offenses.
quote:

Those are facts that you intentionally ignore.

Except they arent facts.
Facts are that the team was so talemted in 2017,o publicly said we were a playoff team. Literally no one was talking about the lack of talent until Troy and miss st(teams our backups should be decent against). Again 52 4 and 5 star players against two teams that combined for 14 4 and 5 star players.
quote:

just don't know how anyone could say moving forward that these haven't been major obstacles to overcome

In what season do you expect to never have obstacles? How do you expect to have better tackle play this year?
quote:

2018 LSU didn't even have offensive tackles.

The gap between cfb tackles and guards are minimal unless you have a nfl tackle. Most tackles in cfb would actually be guards at the next level.thats why elite LT are taken top 5.
quote:

can be said that LSU won 10 games without suitable offensive tackles

That was happening under miles too? How many tackles did miles put in the nfl? You dont have to have elite lt to field a competent oline. Its not a coincidence that we didnt have elite tackles in 2015 and 2016 yet fielded one of the best olines in cfb. Hell we had elite olines almpst every year under miles and most of those guys would be guards in the nfl.

Lets just agree to disagree. Imo 2 tackles should stop 52 4 and 5 star talent disparity.

You clowns have been regurgitating how close we were to 11-1 all offseason.

If you don’t think a better offensive mind could have turned those close losses to Ws and put us squarely on the bubble for the CFP then I’m afraid you are the one suffering from delusion.
