mce he stopped winning 11 games, he was let go while having 2 of his last 3 years woth one of the most productive offenses in the sec. The same offense he had had for 11 years
If the offense was so fricking great why were they all over his arse to change it? Nope this is all revisisionist bullshite. Everytime I saw JJ with the ball I cringed. Everytime I saw BH with the ball I fricking had to cover my eyes. The only thing those offenses had going for them was talent at running back.
Les miles was fired for lying about fixing his offense. I don't care who doesn't like it. He said he was going to address it then dug in his heels and didn't do a thing. That coupled with losses to inferior teams that weren't competitive caused his demise. Why the frick are people arguing it for 130 pages? Because some of you are butthurt over O supposedly not being held to the same standards. Are you fricking retarded? Do you somehow believe that the current LSU program is in the same place it was in 2011? If you do you're warped.

Miles' offensesive problems can be directly attributed to attacking a teams defensive strengths. One of the dumbest things ive ever heard a coach say.
Lol, wut? Miles did the same thing every game, regardless of the opponent’s strengths.

So the offense only matter if its passing right?
A very produtive running offense got him fired but a very productive passing offense is fine? Both with 3 losses.
No one ran that better than Saban, and he was forced to give it up in the second half of the 2017 game -when he put in Tua. He'd have been blown off the field by Clemson if he hadn't.

Yes and on top of that the 2 seasons prior in '12 and '13 he lossed 3 games. So as I said he looked like he had peake. Then as you pointed out the next 2.4 years were very underwhelming even though that '15 had the great start and then the collapse. It was the whole picture, not just the 5 losses in 9 games. At least not IMO.

It’s not about 2 or 3 losses per year.
Yes it is.
Wins and losses are what gets coaches fired.
quote:
It’s about the obvious need to get better QBs and Miles’ inability to recruit them.
2 of his last 3 offenses were more productive than 2018.
Those are facts.

LSU would’ve forever been in the pattern of just being a QB away from challenging.
As opposed to being several position groups away like now.

Yet they're wrong.
Miles lost 10 games in his last two years and a third. Over that span, Orgeron has improved.
The "nothing has changed" cry is a myth

The miles offense is more able to win titles than the steve ensminger offenses.
We had a stud in Burrow and outside of 4 games his passing was average.

Oh good grief, the RickyDaddy 2018 comparo again. Miles’ last few offenses had multiple 5* players at skill positions. 2018 had a dearth of playmakers at skill positions.

It was all about the losses to me and I'm not butthurt at all about O being here or held to any standards. I just happen to think that if Miles was winning running the triple option he would still be here. My discussion about Miles and his firing has nothing to do with Coach O at all.

Well, Ricky now says it's about 2015 only.

Well who knew offenses get put down a peg because of talent.
Why are you putting an asterik on 2015 because they had more talent. Also, outside of rb where is this massive talent gap? The oline is a group of olinemen that was left to O in 2016 and ive bee assured that that oline was overrated.

You're definitely far more objective

No he didn't. He said it was about the 2-3 losses per year. As in multiple occurances.

Uhhhh, 2015 Chark was on the scout team. Chark would’ve been far and away the top WR in ‘18.

2014 was a 5 loss year and no hot seat
There was definitely something else going on and Alleva said so himself

Please explain how you get stand alone season when im bringing up the consecutive seasons of 2012-2015 where we lost at least 3 games for the 1st time in the miles era?
We lost at least 3 games in 2012,2013,2014,and 2015.
That was why miles was fired.
If we win 12 games in 2014 or 2015 it breaks up the consecutive 3 loss or more seasons.
Posted on 2/21/19 at 9:42 pm to RogerTheShrubber
I happen to agree with the idea that this past season was better than the 2015 season because the losses are "better." Ricky have had that disagreement already before this thread.

Just 3 losses later he was going to ve fired. How can you say he wasnt on the hot seat?
You have already been told by multiple people that Alleva was going to fire miles after a&m but was overrrule by fking. Why are you just ignoring facts?
He was going to be fired after 2 of 3 years with one of the most productive offenses in the sec.

Only because of the timing and severity.
However, Miles was told to get the offense in gear, by Alleva.
