Coach O - The "Proof is in the Pudding" Assessment.

1) First was the takeover and 6-2 finish to last season with a piecemeal approach on-the-fly. Grade = B+
2) Next, as the official coach, was the team constraining the Heisman winner and Petrino's Cards. Grade in Louisville win = A
3) Then, was getting Coach Canada and retaining/signing Aranda. Grade = A.
4) The stellar recruiting class. Grade = A.
5) Now, there is the 27-0 win over BYU. Grade = A.
The proof is in the pudding.
We all know that the real pudding test comes as the year progresses, and the big SEC games are engaged.
But, the pudding, probably a bread pudding in Coach O's case, is so far so good.
Proof-In-the-Bread-Pudding Grade = A.
So far.
Geaux Tigers.

Hey Prince, go back to organizing binder tags and buying bulk Monster drinks at Costco for Bebe

How can you have any pudding if you don't eat yer meat?

I like your enthusiasm however he has coached 1 game as the head coach. I am not counting last year because he was coaching to win the job. Now he is coaching to keep the job. Let's get through the season. He hasn't faced any real adversity as the head coach yet and I would like to see how he handles it.
I like this offense for the SEC grind. It seems like it is going to be very physical with enough finesse to keep people out of the box. Should be a fun year.

Hope TAMU finds someone else. That would be a nightmare loss. Same for Florida if Les Miles 2.0 (McElwain) doesn't make progress.
He needs an intermediate assignment like Colorado State or Missouri or somewhere like that. Away from key SEC opponents hopefully.
Hopefully Coach O is building a list of replacement candidates and taking a lot of notes.

Looks like our only realistic hope. I cant believe Im slowly watching the best defensive coach in college football for the next decade slip from our fingers.

Let's see what November brings. Grade him then...

I bet he isn't.
He is smart enough to know it's a big jump from running a D and running a program. LSU will pony up another 400-500K to keep him here. He isn't going to get a high profile P5 job yet and those jobs don't pay 2.5-3 million pr year. Cincinnati is the highest paying non power 5 job at 2.2 million per year.

Hope Aranda doesn't leave the week before our championship game like Kiffin did!

Player turnovers were un-overcomeable in UF loss. Bama, too little offense as usual. Should have easily gone 7-1 with 10-0 loss to Bama. Considering not having his own staff and build up process, it is at least a B+ for that part of process to-date.

Where are all the "he's winning with Miles' players" whiners?

I wouldn't cite an article that refers to Lincoln Riley as a top head coaching candidate.

I don't see how you can give hiring Canada an A after one game against a sub par opponent. I'll hold my judgment until after the October

So far.
Key words here.
None of the things you listed are that crazy for a program of LSU's caliber. He has done a decent/reasonably good job so far but a lot of coaches could have done the same or better.
It will be more impressive when you remake this thread with things like "Beat Bama" or "Won the SEC" or whatever.
Not being negative just saying. Let's see some fancy arse pudding and I'll be with you.
