What does this have to do with anything?

He is stating that most people with half a brain, and people that are pretty reputable, thinks Miles is pretty legit. I would agree!

I posted this story on a previous thread and would not have bored any of you by posting it again until this thread was started:

In July, 2010, my 18 yr old daughter died in an accident while in Baton Rouge attending freshman orientation and my wife was injured substantially. 2 nights later, while at OLOTL RMC in Baton Rouge, there was a knock on the door. It was CLM, no entourage or anything. He spent an hour or so with us that night and that time he took with a couple of grieving parents from Alabama will never be forgotten. The man has a fantastic record at LSU, including a NC, and truly cares about the young men he's responsible for in the football probram. He's told his alma mater "thanks but no thanks" twice. He recruits very well. He just posted the best season with regards to W-L in LSU history. What other type of coach would you really want there? Charlie Weiss? (that fella couldn't coach his way out of a paper bag) Jim Tressel? (tatoogate 2 coming to a theatre near you) and I could go on and on.

Nice post. Puts a lot of what's really important in perspective. Your loss breaks my heart.

thanks man....just kinda hacks me off when I see a bunch of naysaying about CLM (and I realize it's a minority)....what's that ole saying? "Be careful what you wish for because what you'll get is probably going to be worse" or sumthin like that

Thank you ma'am....it's something that'll stay with us for the rest of our lives, that's for sure. To top the visit off, CLM also asked us to attend the Bama/LSU game that November, as his guests. LSU won that one 24-21 and as was just as happy as I'd have been if Bama won it. Same thing this year, for both games....I was gonna be happy no matter who won.

good enough.
"Good enough" is the philosophy of Too-Lame and others willing to settle. Was it Vince Lombardi who said, "Winning isn't everything - it's the only thing!" To say 13-1 is good enough is to say I accept LSU losing. Or, I accept LSU losing the way we did. No. Not in that otherwise perfect season. So maybe we learn and grow. Better still, maybe *CLM will learn and grow. If not, he'd better be prepared to take some grief from the fanbase. 2012 will tell.

Yeah, I know she wouldn't have wanted us to remember Baton Rouge as we saw it for that week in July, 2010. We kinda messed up everyone seated around us by wearing both LSU and Bama garb but once they knew, they were nothing but gracious as has been the case each and every time I'd been to Tiger Stadium in the past. Class university, class faculty, class fans, and a great SEC rivalry. What more could anyone want? :)

The day ANY of us stop learning is the day we die...it's an ongoing, lifelong process for those who are smart enuff to realize it and I believe CLM is smart enuff to realize it, IMHO :)

Told my friend about this website. He logged on and read this post and asked me not to post letter here. He was amazed at some of the comments by LSU fans.

Amyway, I like coach Miles and respect him and I think most of you know that so here is to next year.

Can't blame your friend for telling you that and being amazed at the negative comments. I wish those folks would just start a negative thread about coach Miles so we would all know the deal, instead of trying to hijack a positive thread. Oh well. It is what it is. Take care Bama Scoop.
