I agree completely. You take the bunt off with a 2-0 count.
Mainieri knows Rhymes hits into double plays.. he even said Rhymes does. He put on the hit and run to get Katz to 2nd if Rhymes grounds out.
Rhymes chopped it too hard to the 3rd baseman playing in pretty far. Shitty break.
Exactly. I don't see why people don't get it.

Thanks Captain Hindsight
Thats not hindsight idiot that's the call 112 other college coaches would have made

You realize bunting is gambling too?
Everything, by that logic, is gambling.
Bunting would be the more calculated decision. It even looked like showing bunt might have thrown off Berg a little, but obviously, that's hard to conclude on 2 pitches.

Why mainieri gets paid the big bucks if gamble pays off he's a genius for allowing a great senior hitter hit also if he lays the bunt down and the next 2 hitters come up and get out how many people would of been bitching about bunting raph just my opinion it's how society works today wait and see outcome then grip about it

Sounds like he should have trusted his instincts and fukin bunted .....not gamble
Raph has exactly 0 sac bunts at LSU. It's a huge assumption to think he would lay down a good sac bunt.

Ever think by keeping the bunt on and getting shitty pitches like raph was getting he could have possibly walked and there would have been 2 on with 0 outs

As long as it's not a DP, we're good.

I'm cool with a gamble. If we're playing in the SEC Tournament. Or Game 3 of a SEC series we've already one. Or a midweek game vs the University of Northeastern Southwest Louisiana at Houma. Not god damn game 1 of the CWS

It's not a shitty break when you pull the ball to third on a hit and run. The batter should be trying to hit the ball the other way on the ground. No raph hits it to one of the 2 if that definitely won't be moving on a hit and run...poorly executed baseball.

Isn't he 3 for 5 on sacs bunts for the year?

Which is why few thought it was a hit and run at first, He was trying to pull the ball.

No. I posted that bad stat in another thread.
EDIT: LSU stats shows SB is 3-5. That is stolen bases. SH = sac bunts.

This is exactly why I didn't think it was a hit and run. That is the absolute worst place you can put the ball in that situation, and it isn't like he rolled over on one. He looked like he was trying to grove one, which isn't what you do on a hit and run.

But he didn't. He got a strike to hit, just like anyone would think you would on a 2-0 count.
I like to imagine what would have happened if I knew the powerball numbers before 9:59, but I can't predict things either.

Rhymes should know better.
Katz was so close to 2nd I knew it was a hit and run but the announcers never mentioned it.

its baseball a good idea can become a bad one in hurry....I don't have a problem with the call...the only thing I would complain about is we have too many good hitters on the bench...imo foster and moore need to be in the line up....I love this team and trust cpm , win or lose Tuesday they had a great season...

Oh ok. I know I saw that in the other thread. Didn't know you posted it though.

So then its 2-1 , the guy was struggling trying to throw strikes .....or fukin bunt the strike that he threw

That's not how it works.

I actually didn't mind taking the bunt off. My question was why not at least take a strike? You're up 2 - 0 in the count and you have a pitcher that may be a bit unnerved because of a leadoff error.
The Tigers lost because UCLA made them play their game...and showed that they were better at it.
