The most media created "superstar" in the history of professional sports. Horrible career shooting percentage, carried by big men to multiple titles, and only 1 regular season MVP which should have went to Chris Paul that season. Oh, and a rapist.

Really? I don't care for him, but WOW! Talk about warped views on display!

I give you the most popular player on the New York Yankees for the past 20 years, who finally retired three years too late, as a marginally better hitter than Harold Baines. However, he is treated by most of the baseball world as a combination of Barry Bonds and Babe Ruth.

People like to refer to "The Flip" as evidence of his greatness... but he was out of position. Did he make the play? YES, should he have been there? Not in a million years.

Now... please don't get me wrong... Jeter was a good player, and deserving of the Hall of Fame based on his career, but he is not the best there ever was...Same with Kobe!

Shaq will always be the alpha of the Lakers in Kobe's generation. The fact that Kobe ran him out of town due to his jealousy that he wasn't the "man" is unforgivable. Just an all around bad person. Shaq has more Finals MVPs. Kobe will always be second banana to LSU great Shaq.

Some of you hate so much when you aren't in the same position as others. Just celebrate this man having a great career and his retirement. All the other is excess.

Your stupid is showing.

He may not be the greatest of all time, or even the greatest of his time, but the guy is no slouch. Never been a fan of Kobe, but to deny how good he was is stupid.

Why on Earth is Les wasting LSU money on this crap. Guy didn't even go to college.

Les does some nice things, but this was just stupid. Guy doesn't need to be honored by LSU.

He's one of the least clutch players in NBA history for the top stars.
