They know you can't go toe to toe with Alabama in the trenches, so you get away from them.
Except that they are. Trevor has had plenty of time to throw out of the pocket.
Ben, notice how much Clemson ran PA passes from under center.
Now notice how much we do it. Clemson is running everything out of the shotgun because they know their OL is not their strength vs. Alabama.
Our coaches can't seem to grasp that fact.

They played well enough,
Most of their passing yards came on third down.

The 2017 season was certainly a regression from the mean.
I think if you look at it contextually it’s hard to say that it certainly was a regression.
That 16’ team was loaded, there were 16 players from that team in nfl camps that offseason.
You go into 17’ you boot your best OL off the team. Then, on a young team, several of your key players get hurt; Key, Guice, Lawrence to name a few. You start 2 Fr on the OL by the end of the year, & several more are playing on defense. You have a place holder QB & not real front line WRs.
Looking back you kick the shite out of yourself for losing to Troy. That probably makes it a satisfying season. You beat ND & get to 11 wins, that would be overachieving. So I think right where they ended was a slight disappointment but not far off from what they actually were.

So barring major injury, no excuses for 2019?

What would you know about the Clemson OL talent anyway? Seriously, recruiting rankings are about all you can even use unless I'm supposed to believe you're well versed in the Clemson OL.
I don’t know anything about Clemson’s OL. Which is why I haven’t said much other than the have a few guys in the nfl. Which is part of why this whole comparison is stupid, because you don’t know anything about them either.
ETA: that post was about LSU’s talent not Clemson’s

Did you watch the fricking game?

Convince lil Ricky that 2018 was Miles team and he will be praising this season from now on..
Truth! I have seen his buddies say that O was the RC so miles leaving shouldn't have impacted our recruiting...according to them the RC decides who we recruit and offer

I don’t think their has been a real legitimate excuse since Orgeron took over. Atleast not any excuse that you couldn’t also use for Miles, and I was no Miles fan.
But we never said Miles didn’t have the talent. That was some weird twilight zone shite that happened when Orgeron took over.
In fact, the talking point was ANYONE can win with the talent we have

I'm basing my opinion of their line off the NFL's evaluation of their talent. The NFL draft seems like a good barometer for talent.

Notice how much clemson went Max protect once bama got some penetration?

When does Clemson not primarily use the shotgun in passing situations?
Under Bryant, Clemson ran mostly shorter stuff. They also run what's called mirrored concept to make reads easier for the QB

Example A that Ben doesnt know what he is watching. He thinks Lawrence gettjng rid of the ball in 2 seconds is because of good oline play
He has thrown a lot of quick pass plays which had him throwing the ball at around two seconds but he's also stood in the pocket longer and the pocket still hasn't collapsed.

ALL OF THEM
I asked you what LSU players do you deem as talented
Do you think CEH is a talented as Etienne?
I mean they were both 4 stars, and I’m sure CEH rated higher by most services.
Is Traore equal to any of their 4 star lineman?
Is this how your rationale works?

That takes Clemson’s coaching and development into account.
That’s what we are trying to avoid to dispute the talking point that we don’t have enough raw talent

Lol. Damn you are dense.
Those player’s performance in Clemson’s system doesn’t prove anything except that they have better coaching and development.
I’ve presented objective data. You are presenting hypothetical arguments of how certain players would perform in different systems.
Again, you haven’t proven anything.
Giles was a MONSTER at Texas tech. What did he do here? Does that prove or disprove how much talent he has?
Keep trying

I dont even know why any of us do this.
You have dozens of posters telling you, earl, trout, and Rodger that our offensive scheme sucks. We have facts like Southeastern, la tech, and other shir defenses shutting us down For large parts of the game.
You 4 talk about the lack of talent or miles leaving us with no talent and then tout that same returning talent when youre asked about next year.
Bottomline is Clemson's offense , in no way, is as talented as bama's defense. Their scheme allows them to move the ball against bama. Pretty much every other program's scheme allows them to move the ball better than we do.
Its just another thread of the same posters posting the same shite.

No I don't. I'm telling you that they have barely laid a fricking hand on the man and he's held the ball longer than 2 seconds. He could've held the ball much longer and they still wouldn't touch him. You are full of shite.
