Clemson joins a long list of teams paired with the BR Regional failing to advance

2003 Baylor advances out of Southern Miss' regional.
2004 Texas A&M advances out of Rice's regional.
2005 Tulane wins Tulane's regional.
2008 UC-Irvine advances out of Nebraska's regional.
2009 Rice wins Rice's regional.
2012 Stony Brook advances out of Miami's regional.
2013 Oklahoma advances out of Virginia Tech's regional.
2014 Texas advances out of Rice's regional.
2015 ULL advances out of Houston's regional.
2016 Coastal Carolina advances out of NC State's regional.
2017 Mississippi State advances out of Southern Miss' regional.
2019 Florida State advances out of Georgia's regional.
2023 Kentucky wins Kentucky’s regional.
2025 Clemson fails to advance out of Clemson’s Regional. Winner TBD.
Kentucky broke the streak in 2023 but restarted the streak in 2025.
Only 3 hosts paired with the BR regional have advanced to the Super Regionals in the last 14 times going back 22 years. Hosts paired with get scared and lose.

Usually started before the weekend but it didn’t have the same ooomph after Kentucky broke the streak in 2023. Looks like we’re back.

Not a good sign. We only win the national title when the team we play in supers made it out of their own regional.

Yeah I noticed that too. 2009 and 2023 we played teams that hosted a regional in the supers.
