Sports Illustrated, the largest sports magazine in the country, is raking a college kid over the coals for allowing his image to be used by a club while at the same time using his image on the front of their magazine to sell more issues.

Think about this for a minute.

The irony and hyprocisy is truly mind-boggling.

So the only "story" here is Mathieu's image being used by a local club.

Are you noting the hyprocisy yet?

SI's editors determined that the Honey Badger by himself, a guy who isn't even playing this year, made the most sense to put on the cover of their magazine in the middle of a football season in which LSU just beat the number three team in the nation on its campus and the only reason a player who didn't even play in that game deserved to be put on the cover of the magazine was because his image was being used to get people into a club.

The irony and hyprocisy is truly mind-boggling.

You're looking at this through purple and gold glasses. Think how Tyrann feels about it.

Why would anyone care how he feels. He had a shot to get things right and he failed to correct/address his problems. Going forward is all that matters - LSU avoiding sanctions (which seems to be a safe bet) and the effect of this article on our brand equity, which seems to me does nothing to diminish it.

That being said, I wish TM the best in his personal life, but for all of those who continue to cry over him, etc. Get over it, he's gone and won't be back.

Hmmmm . . . maybe SI needs to talk to me nicely and slowly so I can understand. Sooooo other schools can give players 6 figures through other family members and LSU gets hit with the ticky tackiest BS.

Hell of a point right here:

But rather than take the easy route -- dropping down to a lower division school and playing football until the 2013 NFL draft -- you go to rehab, re-enroll at school while paying your own way, and hope that you'll be able to play next season at LSU.

I do. He was a helluva player for us and a helluva motivator for the team. I don't think he's coming back nor am I crying over it. It is what it is, but I still care and I think SI was out of line.

No dude the article isnt about him coming back. Evans is trying to be a whistle blower, its his thing. And yes its bad cus guys like glenn dildo will run with the allegations as headlines. If you cant see that this is bad, then i cant help you.

Same as the bullshite oversigning piece that OTL ran. Les has never had more than 25 guys in a class make it on campus, whether it be grades or going to play pro baseball. After that piece it was constantly brought up that miles and sec coaches are habitual oversigners. Which is far from the truth. Elliot Porter is on the team and garrett was fat and lazy. A scholly is only a one year deal.

Seems like you just went back on yourself. Since you wish him the best in his personal life, obviously you care about him.

Everyone screws up, and if you can't say that you haven't, you aren't a human. If he has fully accepted what he needs to move forward with his life, then why not let him back on the team? This is why I think he'll be back on the team next year, almost without a doubt.

Also, it's a shame that "reporting" has stooped to such a low level, especially by a highly touted sports magazine. Don't they have editors that review this kind of work??
