Like, there’s no question, no doubt... I’ll put $100,000 on it right now.

I think you're in for some serious disappointment because a 7 win season is very possible and Alleva won't fire him after 2 years for that. Now, if Alleva gets fired, different story. A new AD would most likely want to bring in his guy.

I hope we win a lot more than 6-7, but I can guarantee that Orgeron would be fired if he only wins 6-7. LSU would not voluntarily commit financial suicide.

8 or 9 wins would be the polarizing situations and all bets are off. 6-7 wins is slam dunk guaranteed termination.

The best conversation/debate would be around the 8-9 win season. Any less wins and he’s gone, any more and he’s safe, it’s in that 8-9 outcome that there will be a very big debate on what to do.

Well, we can definitely agree on the fact we both hope we don't have to find out who's right.

Orgeron deserves the opportunity to have 4 years like any head coach would.
Highlited for ignorance of what a top 15 program hiring objectives should be.
As in maybe take an investigated shot at a proven coordinator that compliments further success, but abhor proven losers........especially if they add no value (we needed offensive minds, not a DL coach).

ETA: Guess I should add Orgeron isn't any head coach, he's president of who's who in FBS coaching failures.

Orgeron knew what he was getting into when he lobbied for and got this job and the big buyout... this was not a traditional outside hire, the fans expect succes and success now. He does not get the traditional 3-4 years to build a program, he knew it was expected to win now, win big, or hit the road.

The ball is completely in his court... go field a competent team and win 10+ games and he gets to keep his dream job. If he doesn’t, then he rightdully deserves to be shown the door and get written a big arse check that will fund his grandkids and their kids.

I absolutely believe that's the way it should be, but I don't think Alleva will pull the trigger and admit that he screwed up another coaching hire after only 2 years.

I would seriously consider getting rid of my tickets if Petrino would be hired. A classless individual

THIS IS WHY ALLEVA SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIRED A LONG TIME AGO!

A guy who has a platform to talk about sports and loves stressing that he's a lawyer despite that he hasn't actually practiced in a long time, tries to rouse rabble and stir shite up those types of people

Please stop the nonsense. Orgeron is not going anywhere this season if he wins 7 or 8 games and he shouldn't. Orgeron deserves the opportunity to have 4 years like any head coach would. Good grief his 1st recruiting class isn't completely even on campus yet. Lol.

He doesn't deserve shite. He didn't deserve this job in the first place, there should be universal agreement on that. So how is he entitled to 4 years?

How stupid are we going to look if he runs this program into the ground by 2020? It'd go down as one of the dumbest hires ever.

So this season all over again?

8-9 wins every year and O is here indefinitely. He'll always have that "next Amazing recruiting class," when he's been mediocre on it so far. Another subpar 2 seasons and Aranda is gone, so he gets the "new DC" defense. Ensminger is bound to underperform, so "new offense" defense will be on the table at some point.

If O ever starts over 5 Freshman, his ilk will tout that too as reason he should "get a break."

O is doing a fantastic job at setting up excuses.

You simply do not hire a head coach to fire him 2 years later after 1 recruiting class.

Orgeron is coming off a 9 win season and should have won the bowl game except for a blown coverage by the secondary. All this guaranteeing he will be gone is BS. Man, some of you act like LSU has a disasterous season. That is simply not the case. It's like some of you are hoping LSU has a bad year just because you want a new coach when Orgeron has not done a bad job at all. LSU is not going to fire Orgeron because a handfull of malcontents on Tiger Droppings are unhappy. That is laughable.
